You can unlock the phone but Sprint phones are CDMA phone not GSM. So if you are thinking to use with GSM carriers in nepal then it won't work. So be careful

I'm about to buy a sprint iphone 4s in two days to send to nepal. Can someone give a definitive answer whether it will work or not in Nepal? Please let me know ASAP coz I have to give my decision to buy soon.

yes, now a days sprint iPhone 4S makes international phone which contain both CDMA and GSM. it has a sim slot. if you can get sprint to unlock your phone for international use, you can definitely use it in Nepal. if you can't get Sprint to unlock your phone, doing yourself will cost you 100 bucks upward. goodluck.
