After that I haven't filed as in the third year i lost some of the papers (w2) required for filing. tes pachi alchi garera ho ki k garera ho maile filing nai garina. recent years ma graduate student bhaye, but did not file even though i have w2. yo barsa bharne plan cha. tara kasari approach garne, kaslai kura garne bhanera idea nai chaina. if anyone of you know who i can contact in this situation or anything i can do, i would be really grateful. i live in chicago area and any people from the area can give me address if i can talk to any local people.
thanks.

sajhamitra,
may be i did not make clear in my post. i lost some of the w2s for my third year filing and i tried to collect those lost w2s from my employers. due to various circumstances i could not get my lost w2s and did not file for that year. hence i could not file for the following years.

sajhamitra, are you sure, you can file your tax in 10 minutes?
mine usually takes around 45min to 1 hour even just for simple data entry, and
then all those bank settings and separate filing for each returns.

nothing will happen, probably, you will end up paying taxes depending upon your income
or probably you'll end up getting huge tax returns, who knows..

bmbb,
As you may be aware a copy of the W-2 goes to IRS. If you are entitled for a refund it does not matter much if you file on time or late but if you owe tax to the IRS you will end up with hefty fines and interest. So my advice is -try to retrieve your old W-2s and file the tax, both current and past.
P.S.- Given your lazy behaviour I wonder how seriously you will take advices from Sajha!

bittertruth, yes 10 minute is sufficient for me unless i own a house or work in 1099 which I don't. I have max 2 w2s (most of the time it's 1) in a year and they are pretty straight forward. Just fill all the numbers in text box then done.

For sure who ever filing single and has one or two jobs will withheld more than enough to offset tax liability , most cases (90%) will get some refund. in 2009 and 2010 there as was a "work for pay credit" it was 250 and 400 dollars ( I am gussing).
Still you can file taxes for back 3 years.
