I love Nepali politics. The politicians do not have much to do since everything is running fine by itself. Except, except for the rowdy young men who are bringing down the democracy index of our country by sporting long hair.

So just like during the Royal regime, the government has instructed the Police to arrest and cut the hair of long haired men.

As I was walking back a little inebriated from a costume party, a police van stopped me and said I was under arrest for having long hair. A wise man once told me never argue with a fool and Nepali police, so I surrendered myself, held both my hands up as if someone pointed a pistol at me and said "Hands up!".  In my state of consciousness, I was enacting my part in a bad cop movie where the bad cop arrests the good guy.

They took me to Patan Dhoka police chowki, where they had a resident hindi speaking barber with barbarically long moustache. I wondered why they were not cutting long moustaches. But that's besides the point. They had a barber room ready at the police station and there was a line of perpetrators getting ready to get their hair trimmed up. As my turn came to sit on that wooden chair, the barber turned to the constable on duty and said. "सर एसको त कातिलिन मिल्दैन हुजुर"

Constable looked up and said, "मुजी मदिसे आफ्नो काम गर खुरुक्क"

The barber smiled and removed my rastafaria wig and said. "सर यो त नक्कली कपाल हो हुजुर!"
