If we consider 40 yrs ago situation I would definitely not be saying he got it easy. Situation differs with the time, we dont how how things were 40 yrs ago, be it easy now , prolly not back then.
But, it seriously doesnt matter if he got it via Royaltees for he got it by himself, what counts is he did reach his peak. Im sure to expand his business as such, he does work hard. People would rather say his hard work paid off..
Feri Nepal ko context ma, if you have a source, things come easy :)

I think Chaudhary brothers inherited alot from parents and their parents from their parents. Besides those exclusive "sources" from Durbar and PMs (eg Surya Bahadur ?) the inherited wealth must have been a good amount. Still, the reality is that they expanded may be more than 10000 time of what they got from their father.
I think contrary examples could be: bhatbhateni sahu Min Bahadur Gurung, Upendra Mahato, Jiba Lamichhane who expandaned started from zero and without much 'source' (? not sure 100% he hehe, who knows...) they have made what they have today. But, there are stories about Min Bahadur, i dont know if they are true... Infact people have stories for every sucessful person :)

Well said guys. There are some rags to riches that i find truly inspirational. Like J.K Rowling, Sam Walton and the story about mohd mustafa and samsudin the owners of the a shopping centre, i think which is now called mohd mustafa only (In Singapore).
How people made it without any "sources" and achieve the heights of success. Truly inspiring.

Who is the new richest man in Nepal? It is Chabilaal alias Prachand alias PuspKamal.
Find out what he owns in NEPAL!!!!! Do not complain it, do not check the background or the legitimate earnings or not, you do not want to be a looser (Pessimists) raising these questions?
