One team can access the server but i can not.
That team is in another State.
So we are troubleshooting what the issue is.
I am on same security profile and same firewall configuration.
I need to find out.
Any thoughts on that?

Is it ACL network issue? DMZ issue?

Anythoughts?

Please reply to me at your earliest convenience.

Thank you.

If you're using SSH, check ~/.ssh/known_hosts file for an entry starting with the server name you are trying to log in to. If there is, delete the entire line and save the file. Try logging in again. If it asks you if you want to establish a new known host, type yes.

 1. telnet IP_of_server 22             If it fails you need to put in a firewall request to allow you access. If this works then proceed to step2
2. On the server where you are trying to connect add your IP to /etc/hosts.allow.

@newguyintown, are you for real or just goofing around here?

Most of the questions are fine and some of them are obvious to a newbie; but who on the earth would let you administer their systems and network if you actually get stumbled into petty issues like these so often?

TCP/UDP ra Telnet bhaneko autai ho? NO
What runs on port 23? Anything you want to run
Is it ACL/Network issue? Maybe, what does your ACL say?
DMZ issue? Probably NO -- DMZ is not a "setting", it's a  segment of the Network.

But, would any of these answers really help you?

You're going to stress yourself if you don't take the "right" approach soon and continue dragging it this way. If you are really determined and are not just messing around with others' brains, you should get into learning the basics. Good starters would be : Network+, CCENT, and Linux+ certification materials. Just grab a reading resource: a book, training video, etc that covers each of these exam topics and check back after a few weeks, I bet you can answer most if not all of the questions you have up there and be able to strategically approach issues you encounter everyday at your work!

I *feel* for you, and probably believe you're seeking out for an actual help, but quite honestly get frightened seeing these questions.

Hope you take it as a constructive criticism!

Brother Sajha: With due respect, I am learning and seeking my brothers and sisters help. Thank you for your answers. The cure of ignorance is to ask questions and i believe no question is a stupid question. Everyone learned in this life and none learnt from their mother's womb :)
I read the Redhat book but on real environment it's different. Please correct me from wrong.....

Anyways, for all brothers and sisters: I am learning about IP tables. Could you please direct me to a link or video or documents so i may learn how to enable/ diable ports and also learn about firewalls too.

Thank you for your time. May GOD reward you!
