This is what was seen at the Nepal-Bangladesh game this morning. I was utterly embarrassed to see this. What has a game of cricket got to do with buddha ??If they really wanted to make a point , something like "Paras and Buddha, pride of Nepal" or something along these lines would have done the job.
 Nepalese really need to mature.

Millions of years after today's date, there won't be any Nepal ! Buddha himself declared, "That which is born must die." Nepal was born and will eventually die. Why don't these people follow his teaching:

1) Life is a suffering (due to ignorance)

2) Suffering is due to attachment

4) Attachment can be overcome

4) Eightfold path should be practice to get rid of suffering

Buddha talked about non-attachment and these Nepalese people who are proud of Buddha don't even understand what this "non-attachment" is ! These people who are showing these banners are the embodiment of attachments. The moment these people die, Nepal will stop existing for them ! Why this nonsense? Even wise people have feared this thing called "ego-self." When the vision is wisdom, all this nonsense automatically ceases.

ujl, these are industrial strength morons..
Some of these morons in abroad will reply, " I'm from the land of Buddha and Mt. Everest, as anyone give a rat ass." if asked where are they from?
Not that I don't get asked the same question, but if they don't know the name Nepal, I don't have urge or necessity to describe them where I am from , "Forget about it," a smile and business done. These idiots will never change.

We believe Buddha was born in Nepal. They did whatever they could to get attention, to promote attention.
काम गर्हनेहरुलाई लाज छैन तर हेर्नलाई लाज, यो त भएन सोल्टा. Don't be embarrassed, it's our origin.
People think you'r not one of them, so they ask you ? but they don't even know where/what Nepal is ? हामीले नभने कसले भन्छ। Indianले पार्ट अफ India भन्ला, Chineseले same like Tibet भन्ला।

It wasn't needed. As kichkanni said , Paras and Budhha, pride of Nepal would have been nice.
* But I am NOT ASHAMED of it *.

I am proud of my heritage and I am not ashamed to let people know. Talk with any Indian and they will be surprised when you say Buddha was born in Nepal. The whole media is misguided about Buddha's birthplace. Why would you be ashamed of that ?
