I'd like to share my first job interview experience .

My first real job interview was when I was in University for a on-campus job. The position was web Developer/Database Manager for one of the department of my University. It was really good opportunity for me, as this was my field of study.

I went to the office and waited 15 minutes before they called me in a room for interview. I was nervous from inside but was fairly confident outside. The manager asked me general questions like, What is my worst fear?(my answer to this was 'Cave'). How do you handle pressure? Bla bal bla....I answered them with my best ability.

Finally he started asking me technical questions. One of the question was, Do you know how to make Pivot Chart in Excel? Until that time I had never heard of Pivot chart in Excel. But I answered, I know it well. Than, lightening stroke me when he asked me to do it right there infront of him. He put me in his desk and gave me some random data to make pivot table. At that point I could not backup and say I dont know it. I was so scared that I could not think anything.

Luckly, the interviewer went out to get coffee. Within that 2 minutes, I went to google and searched 'How to Create Pivot Table in Excel?'. I got the basic idea what pivot table was, so I played around for like 5 more minutes and showed it to the interviewer.
After few more questions, he told me I had the job. That was big surprise for me.
So lesson learned is,
1. don't lie in the interview, it might lead to disaster.
2. don't giveup too early
3. sometimes lie helps (not recommended)
4. be confident about yourself ( this is the most important)

If you have good/bad experiences please share. It might be helpful for others during their career.

Ruben bro, im not an expert but have pretty good experience on Java and related technologies.
First thing i would like to mention to any wanna be java developer is, Java is not standalone technology you will be using as a java developer, You need to have good understanding of client side languages (at least these: JSP, HTML, CSS, JQuery, Javascript, XML). and server side technologies ( like JDBC, Hibernate, Webservices REST or SOAP.). Not trying to scare you but these are basic things you need to have some understanding on.
For the core jave interview you need to know at least these question. But dont just remember the answers but understand it how they are used.
1. why is java called platform independent?
2, What is JVM? how it works?also what is JRE?
3. why is String immutable in java? diff bwtween string and stringBufer?
4. what is static method, class? how to instentiate static class?
5. what does all assess modifiers do? public, private, default, protected?
5. know about Collections very well? List, Set, Map, Array
6. know very well about interface, abstract class, encapsulation, inheritance.
7. write a simple program with multithread.
8. Final, dinally and finalize diference.

these are basic things i can rememer right now. There are much more,..just google and learn.
also Spring MVC is imprtant.

Ruben bro ko suggestion ramro cha. apart from it, I used to watch some youtube tutorials.
the most helpful 2 are :
1. thenewboston ( for core java, css, html etc)
2. Java Brains ( for advanced topics liks spring, struts 2)
These tutorial are very simple to understand. However just watching the tutorial will not help unless you practice yourself.
