"Indians here where I live (Finland, but also in neighboring countries) have a real nasty reputation for underpaying/abusing their employees in the hospitality business. I understand it's quite the same in the UK as well, cutting corners, hiring illegal immigrants, food not what containing what it's supposed to contain, etc. It's to the point here that we don't really have 'Indian' restaurants that much... the reputation is bad enough that they are all rebranded as 'Nepalese'."

@bittertruth.. yup.. just like in almost every website there are few reasonable voices and tons of people making noise in reddit.. and that's the reason why I don't want ppls to view the comment as a definite proof. But as a popular saying goes.. where there is a smoke there is fire.. so all I'm saying is, a random person from finland on internet said those above lines.. and I'm not sure how much truth there is but that it might be happening.. thats all folks..

Like OKC says, every site has its share of filth and novelties. Reddit is a massive site that gets 1.5 million unique page views (about 6-8 million total) per day and is bound to attract the idiots that you speak of. But because of its thread voting system, for a good part those idiotic posts get buried down below. That doesn't mean idiotic and sensational threads don't frequent Reddit, matter of fact there are tonnes of those posts. But along with those posts, are posts that bring a very intellectual group of discussion. The AMA (ask-me-anything) page, which has been frequented by the likes of Obama and other great personalities, is a testimony of Reddit's solid user base. To me it truly is the front page of internet.

I have no attachment with Reddit to clarify its image, but let's be fair on our disposition.

reddit still is idiots magnet. You just acknowledged that this world is full of idiots and dumbos and that agreed what I had to say, it's idiots magnet and hence millions hit a day.

lifehacker, space are the ones I frequent. I don't care about what ppl think and what they do on internet. next up they'll come up with superimposed picture of rare frog and might call it alien from another planet like they did to eel fish few months ago and that made to the news. Idiots are in abundance. Idiots make idiots.
