NRN Mafia
NRN is an organization established by few so-called elites of Nepalese community in different parts of the world. However, NRN has had a very bad reputation since the very beginning for different reasons. Some of the things attributed to NRN is that it is an organization of few crooks dedicated to making themselves rich and powerful.

People like Upendra Mahato who acquired money from illegal sources are considered the main leaders of NRN. Upendra Mahato acquired money from the mayor of Moscow before the dissolution of soviet union and fled to Europe to make that money legal in the market. His networth which is around $40-$50 million right now is nothing more than what he acquired from that ransacking scheme. Mahato has a reputation of being very rich and powerful but he is nothing more than a swindler according to people who know him personally. Mahato personally promised the organizers of ANA-2012 in Dallas that he would contribute over a million for the event and made a big deal about it in the media. However, when the time came for the delivery, Mahato was gone. There are several stories about him being the greatest cheat of the century.
Tara Niraula
There is another individual by the name of Tara Niraula who has been involved in NRN-USA since its establishment. Niraula is a nice guy but with no vision or ability to make things happen. He just sits around Jackson Heights restaurants and looks for free food or dinner at the little events. He is an attorney for every committee in Jackson Heights that offer him a liberal respect and free dinner.
The mafia bank created by some people in the name of NRN, privately owned company
The NRN mafia created an investment forum by the name of “NRN investment” with is not really a part of NRN but is used to collect the money of many Nepalese all across the globe by misleading them by that name. Upendra Mahato, Shesh Ghale and few others people are supposed to be the main beneficiaries of this misleading investment group that is secured by Lumbini Bank of Nepal according to the sources.
Journalists affiliated with NRN mafia
Lok Tiwari and Sonam Lama are using the NRN forum to enhance their mutual businesses and other investments. Tiwari supplies all the restaurant supplies of Himalayan Yak and Sonam Lama supplies the necessary cash. The whole game is thus one of financial gain and power attainment than the public service.

So called journalists like Bijaya Poudel, Kishore Panthi and Roshan Dhungana are mere peddlers of the NRN mafia. Kishore Panthi gets free tickets for travelling by bus or plane from either Lok Tiwari or Prem Raja Mahat and preaches about their sainthood in his papers while Bijaya Poudel and Roshan Dhungana worship Khagendra GC with all the candles and lights they have. The involvement of Bijaya Poudel, Roshan Dhungana, Mridula Koirala and Khagendra GC in making of many false political documents are well known to the public.
A NRN swindler
NRN mafia and their journalists are getting richer and richer while the public that funds them and their so-called “investment club” is losing from all sides. Now, the same mafia has schemed another project in the name of building a NRN establishment in Nepal. They have already collected thousands of dollars in this scheme. It is yet to see where all those hard earned money of the public goes.
The new NRN mafia
From the very beginning, NRN as an organization has just become a platform for crooks to acquire name, fame and power. The real community activists and social workers of the Nepalese community across the globe seem not to be at all interested in becoming a part of NRN community. The increasing number of people dropping out of NRN is just the reflection of that.
