What if Nepal merges in India. India will construct many roads, bridges, industries. Economy will flourish. We gain lots of thing that we can't or don't have. ONLY THE thing we lose is our "Identity". What Identity are you talking about? Do we have Identity now? Can our corrupt leaders live without India's remote control?

There are many provinces in india without many roads, bridges and industries. What if after Nepal merges with India, India does not give a damn about Nepal and leaves it to be one of its rotting provinces?

1. India does not have social security system, Nepal has 2.30% Indians are poor, 25% of Nepalese are poor. 3. Life expectancy of Indians and Nepalese is almost same. 4. Literacy in Nepal and India almost same. 5. 40% of Indian kids are underweight, only 29 % of Nepalese are underweight. 6.according to U.N. condition of women in Nepal is better than that of IndiA. 7. More than 30 million Indians are working as low grade Labour whereas only 3 million Nepalese are working like that. So,, why someone wants to merge with a country which has quality of life is lesser than Nepal? If you are looking to improve quality of life of Nepalese through merger, May be we should merge with China, lol

Has Darjeeling become Singapore? Has Sikkim become USA? According to recent survey from the United Nations, 9 out of 10 women in Delhi alone are sexually assaulted. Do you want your mother and daughter to be raped and poked by a Desi paanwaala? Do you want all the filthy paan-masala to be spitted in your daughter's breast and Vagina? Are Desi people kind to our Nepali daughters sold in the Mumbai's Kamaathipura district? Have you seen the ripped off vagina of a Nepali daughter in Mumbai's brothel because of multiple rapes? Identity is a BIG thing. Without identity you are good for nothing. If you want to be a Yogi, that's totally a different thing but coming back to this relative world: You don't even exist without identity. If Lion in the jungle loses its identity of being lion, what will happen to that lion? Even cats will make fun out of that lion! Have you seen the conditions of Tibetans? Are they happy? Even Nepali police don't give a crap about Tibetans! Why? Because they have lost their identity. Please remember this: "When things are not in its proper place, it is called dirt." Without Nepal, Nepalese will be a dirt. Respect your mother, motherland, mother language, and mother culture, because they are the giver of happiness.

I agree with ujl. Identity is a big thing. People who are for India taking over Nepal so that their lives might get better have no idea about the sacrifice our ancestors made. Expecting other countries to come and help you means you have lost faith in your ability to do anything for the country. If you cannot do anything for the country, fine, but don't under-estimate and show disregard to other people's efforts. Clean your house by yourself. Don't expect others to buy your house and then clean it for you. You will probably have a clean house but you will no longer be the owner.

Lot easier to move to developed countries on a Nepali passport. Nepali passport is probably the most valuable document one can have in all of the third world. No one likes Africans or Muslims. Pakis, Bangalis, Dhotis would give their first born to get their hands on one.

Wow , I don't know it is just, opinion or what but wishing your country's sovereignty to be taken away is active treason. And as neplease we are so habitual of taking things lightly. Be careful for what you wish, slavery will kill you from root. Even wishing it will destroy you from inside out. Have some self respect for your dignity. Nepals condition is fixable, it's still very alive and liveable place, we don't have major war, lack of food and insecurity for general people. People should stop wishing for developed country like facilities cause Nepal is too far from it. If people of Nepal just start voting right people and don't fellow crap leader to street for one meal, it won't take too long for Nepal to become one of the decent small country in world. I believe it can happen in 15/20 yrs if things start moving in right track. I know lot of us living abroad haven't done anything for Nepal and or its society but common let's not wish it looses it sovereignty.
