Nepalis Associations all over the US have declared tomorrow an ethnic holiday for US based Nepali population. This is in response to a long battle in US senate to grant the favorable status of TPS for Nepalis. The TPS (Temporary Protected Status) grants legal status to all Nepalis residing in the US for 18 months whether or not they have legal status currently.

In other news Philipinos are organizing a counter rally against the decision of TPS designation to Nepal. According to the news Philipinos had been waiting for more than 3 years for the TPS and the severity of catastrophe and the human casualties were considered larger than those of Nepalese. Leading the rally is Manny Pacquiao. All the Nepalese are advised to wear helmets and other body armor.

This is a totally fake news hai. I called the president of ANA local chapter in Dallas to see if they are organizing such अ rally here. He said, given the fact that TPS is not yet approved they have not planned anything. He also told me that it is unlikely that such a rally will be organized in Dallas given a small number of expected participants.
