Planning to go to Mexico to renew my visa. Currently F1 enrolled in master program. please share the process and documents needed if anybody has done this before. Thanks for any input.

If u r maintaining f1 status and ur i20 is valid, i dont think expiration of ur visa is an issue. U only have to go out while h1 stamping

To be more clear, as long as u r maintaining f1 status and valid i20, u are fine even if ur visa is expired. U r a legal resident. On the same note, if u do not maintain f1 status or i20, u will procure illegal presence even if u have a valid f1 visa. So f1 status and valid i20 takes precedence over f1 visa.

ummm..if this guy did his bachelors and currently enrolled masters with f1 visa(which i assumed is already expired), I am prety sure he knows about it. I guess he just wanted to renew his visa to travel back home. I might be wrong, idk.

Then u can stamp visa in nepal when u come back. U dont need US visa to go to Nepal :)

Thanks for all your inputs. Like nayapidi said I am aware of f1 status and i20. Just wondering if anybody took that route to Mexico to get visa while in F1.
