Hello Everyone,
My mom is coming to New York from Kathmandu in May. Since it will be her first international travel, I am trying find a flight companion for her. May I know if there is anyone who is coming from Nepal to US (preferably New York City) anytime between May 4 - May 11.

My mom is 40 years old and she is physically fit for travel. So, accompanying her would not be a hassle at all. She just need guidance during transits and immigration work.

If you have any helpful contacts, can you please email me (anjelamanandhar@gmail.com). I appreciate your assistance. Thank you.

Why is it that this kind of request keeps popping up here, despite the fact that I have never seen anybody offering to help?
If I were sending my mom and she needs help, I'd ask the airline not here. Think about it, the chances of a Sajhaite going to Nepal the same day, same time and same flight route. Better spend that time calling the airline

Dont you think you are too worried ? She is just 40 years old. She should be able to navigate airports. And immigration offices are used to dealing with people who have problems speaking english. If you are too worried, Get a set of cards for her. The cards need common sentences both in nepali and english which she can present to people to try to communicate. like (i need to be taken to this flight to for my transit)l I cannot speak english. I can understand hindi ( most airports have Indians who work there. )
Also see the route, she will be taking either (ktm-hkg or del or some middle eastern nation) she can ask the someone flying with her to assist her in the first leg. After that it should not be any problem to reach the states. I would also have her carry a smart phone and teach her to connect to the wifi hotsopts. She can talk to you in viber or fb messenger,

Hope this suggestion works.

Anjela, have you heard about wheel chair assistance? Call airlines and tell them your mom has some walking problem so she needs wheel chair assistance. What they will do is they will pick your mom from one gate to drop in another.
As like maxy bro said make some cards with WATER , RESTROOM, KINDA FOOD SHE WANT ( VEG / NO BEEF/ NO CHICKEN) make it different color so that she recognise. Write your name and address and phone number in one paper, she nees that in immigration.
Where is her Transit ? If its in Gulf country then don't worry there will be so many nepali in airport too. Even on immigration stuff they will help.
Since she is coming to new york she will find so many dhotis too.
I will not recommend her to carry smart phone and teach whole thing. Thats too much. Unless she already know how to do it.
Don't worry my mom came like that and she said there was no problem at all. Good luck.
