One of my kuirey buddy is goin to Nepal for few months and will be staying at my house. I am thinking of sending a sony sound system with him. It is a refurbished system that costed me only $150 but a new one would cost $400.

My question is this. Will he have to pay tax on it? if so will he be taxed on the actual product price of $400 or just the refurbished price of $150. I have the bill.
