Applied TPS for the first time and they granted me TPS till June 2018. However my EAD is expiring on 24 dec 2016 this year which is why I want to renew my EAD.

I am sure that I have to pay for the I765 fee but I was wondering - "Do I have to pay biometrics fee too?" Biometrics is for TPS and my TPS is expiring till june 2018 so do I just have to pay for i765 form fee with biometrics fee or just i765 form fee?

You have to pay biometric fee ($85) and I-765 fee of ($380) of total $ 465.

@neerman: you misunderstood it. I dont have h1b but my TPS was approved until june 2018 when I applied in 2015 ( I dont know how).

OK, First TPS approval until June 2018 seems to be a technical mistake as you know that first TPS approval validity ends on Dec 24, 2016.

Even though you have TPS until June 2018, I would suggest you to file for TPS extension with EAD (provide all supporting documents) ASAP. TPS extension fee is FREE this time (no need to pay $50), you have to pay only biometric and EAD (total of $465 cheque or money order ). Fill I-821 and I-765 with renewal checked (You may use the same previous I-821 and I-765 form and modify few fields where applied). This will extend your EAD automatically for another 6 months after Dec 24, 2016 and you may get another EAD until Dec 24, 2018 before June, 2017 (extended period). All these things are clearly mentioned in USCIS site too.

you TPS came with the automatic 6 month extension.

You will still need to file the TPS exteion / EAD and correct fees.

@neerman: yes it is clear now. Will send TPS application with EAD application too tomorrow. Sending I821 will not make any confusion between me and USCIS I guess. Will do that .

You have to send a copy of approved I-821 receipt and I-765 receipt or EAD card printed both front and back along with other supporting documents. Pls refer to other sajha thread for required document when applying for TPS extension.
