I'll be returning back to Nepal for my retirement and i was thinking of buying a land around Kathmandu. Is there any good place that would be good for retirement ? Any ideas would be appreciated.

It doesn't necessarily have to be Kathmandu though.

Thanks,

I would recommend less populated area of Bhaktapur and Banapa with its surroundings; reason for choosing those place. Water, electricity, transportation, health and business hub. Travelling internationally will also be easier since you can reach TIA with in an hour or 2.

If yo udont' mind telling.. how did you manage the escape ? i mean, retirement .. i've been in the same grind ( prison) for almost 2 decades myself.. and just the word retirement gives me similar excitement as orgasm would when i was 14 and full of hormones.

Though I am far from retirement age, I have been thinking about it for a while. Ideally, I would choose some hilltop location in Pashupatinagar, but the need for healthcare in old age may be a sticking issue there. So, surrounding areas near Kathmandu, like Luvu, Budhanilkantha, Bhainsepati could be do-able. However, if I decide to go back, I would probably settle in Dhobikhola area between Kapan and Golfutar. I envy your decision to retire in Nepal. Good luck.
