Rajiv Bhai,

GOOD article by GOLTIN and Jaya Kumar Nath Shah and his good friend Lord Cowdery certainly would had enjoyed it. Yes, I love criket and only recently my good mate David Hookes from Oz team was beatedto death by a bouncer gone unruly...and had become very disenchanted with Cricket.

Nevertheless, this article reminded me of sweet sixteen days with the dates with Shahji's daughter and so forth.

I think you should tell us more about the growth of cricket in Nepal.

Nepal Tara ji,

nice to know that you are into cricket.

Jaya kumar ko ghar aghadi (you know what I mean), bagmatio ko cheou ma, KKM used to practice. We used to gather there religiously thrice a week. Jaya ji ko thulo chora Amar ji, ani of course the infamous Sri Nivas Rana ji (now the president of NCA) used to be with us. I have had several occasions on which Jaya ji would get mad because of breaken glass window. I used to be absolue in my early teens when batting, ani most of the times the bowlers used to get whacked straight into the window. Those were our days.

ha ha Jaya ji ko chori aa rai. I still have glimpses of her. We used to have some drinks at his "Bangalow" after prac sessions. I also remember that famous one piece car.

I followed that David episode. Sad that it happened. Tara that should not get you demotivated to unlike cricket. It is a sports that lives with you forever.

Ani whereabouts Down Under ni? Looks more like Victoria. I was fortunate enough to play some semi-first class cricket outside of SCG in 1995. Those were my best cricketing days. Could not make it to Sheffield Shield owing to race/age disparity. You know how politicisized cricket is! In fact it is one sports were all facets of mgmt come into being. And so I invited my think-tanks this Sunday for a game that I am skipping for New Haven Cricket Club locally.

Talking about Nepal and Nepalese cricket. We have tons of talent. All we need to do is get it going. I shall be there in mgmt capacity very soon. Just waiting on few things to settle down in the west.

Rajiv Bhai,

So you know people that I know ala Amar the spoilt brat and the Sri Nivas the Cuckoo. It seems who have so much in common. I mean Davis Hookes and like his ilks made fame and money millions of $$$$$$$ in endorsement and also became drunkards and that is sports culture in Australia. Then the Greek tragedy sinks in. In that context I crave for the sport to be just at amaeteur level.

Yes, Jaiji put me off as he went for more money and sold his daughter for it. I mean she was arranged for marriage to Lok Bhakta Rana. Then I realised that love of individuals can be interferred by collective actions of parents and other money hungry relatives. So I moved on andnow found even better love in Oz.

These are personal vignettes in a moment in time.

I can live on by talking with you.

Yes, I think you will be the perfect Sports Manager for Nepe Cric Club and a great motivator.

Keep on posting on the matter.

Chio.

Ashish,

You think you know about Australia more than any other Nepalese for the starter. Guess what mate! I have news for you for your concern and astonishmnent. Hookes was a trained teacher and of the same University with my wife, while at their teacher training in Adelaide. He was born in Adelaide and not Melbourne than you think. We were also involved in some real interest business. Dont try to know all Australia just you were at melbournefor a few years. I have been in Australia since 1977 and lived all over Australia. The ilks of the name you provide are late comers and have not acquanted OZ life the other side of the DIGO wup wup just like me mate. Therefore, me moy mate do'n't try to be a wooly woofter.

Dear Ashish ji:

the truth of the matter is that in larger scheme of life it ain't matter much if and/or RSJBR Ji rubbed shoulders w/ Hookes or not.

Here is a picture from yesterday's match I played. The game was between star-studded New Haven Cricket Club and minnows called Waterbury Cricket Club. I shall take the leverage of introducing some of the players from this pic.

3. Raja Shaukat- from Pakistan.
4.John williams - From Barbados.
5. Leighton Greenidge- who is Gordon Greenidge's brother.
6.Bobby - from Punjab.
7. Abbas- from UAE. He played national level cricket in UAE.
8.Dhanpat- A doctor @ yale.
9.Vijay- a doc student in physics @ Yale.
10. Faisal- u-16 from pakistan.
11. Jonathan- Red stripe from Jamaica.
12.Myself- Skipper of the side from Nepal.
13.Ijaz- from Pakistan
15. Jumor- vice captain from Antigua.

Rajiv Bhai,

Glad to see you fit and hitting fine with all the talented chaps. I mean most Nepalese come to Australia and hardly play competitive sports at fairly good level. They may meet some Indian, Pakistani or other teams in restaurants as a waiter or in low paying level and boast that they met so and so hangu lama dhak.

I know one Nepali so obssessed of big names that he spend time hanging outside 5 star hotels. Then he comes out to give us dhak that he is pal of so and so.

what matters is "If you ain't got a swing, then it ain't mean a thing." That is my Kool Kricet jibe and high five for you Ashsish " bro.

I ain't have time to Nepes and if they come in contact it cost money and I wanna stay out of the waiter and butler types.

Good to see cricket lovers around here...Reminds me of those childhood days.

Hey, Mr. Jaya K. Shah's nati was my fren at skool. Me and him used to go to this cricket coaching thing in KTM...khaali coach ko gaali khanthiyo tara. Theres a lotta cricket clubs here in Toronto...actually I heard theres around 70 teams. I had joined a team last year for a 2nd Div Under 19 league. WE wont the championships :D...anyways ya its good to see nepal progressing in cricket. Hope we contnue to take big strides n eventually end up a test playing nation someday.

As a kid I always dreamt of that TU ground having floodlights and stands and ending up one of the most beautiful venues around the world. Beating Sharjah since KTM has a more pleasant weather. Ahh i just hope one day it happens.

I could go on n on abt cricket lol so am gonna stop for now.

Hey Cricket lovers of Nepali origin, me having some fun with Sunday games and occassional tourney among the few clubs we have in this beautiful island called Formosa.
By the way, as the game is bringing pride to Nepalese in the way our colts are playing, is there anyway we can contribute to the game.
May be have a likeminded individuals forming a group or fan club and aiding with whatever is possible for the development of the game in Nepal. I believe small contribution over a period on our part will have significant impact in the overall progress of the game in Nepal
