Hi all,
What a good news??? Now, at least people will scare to do like Chranjivi Wagle.
God bless Nepal,
Sagun
Deciding on a case filed by the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA), the Special Court Thursday passed a two and half years jail term and a penalty of nearly Rs 27.3 million to former minister and Nepali Congress (Democratic) leader Chiranjivi Wagle for amassing the same amount of property while in office.
A bench of Special Court judges Tap Bahadur Magar, Govind Parajuli and Bhupadhoj Adhikari announced the verdict this afternoon. The court however acquitted Chiranjiviýs son Devendra saying the evidences submitted by the CIAA against him were insufficient. The CIAA had alleged Wagle junior for exploiting his fatherýs influence for illicit gains.
The CIAA had filed a rupees 40 million corruption case at the Special Court against Wagle some 17 months ago.
Meanwhile, sources say Wagle who was released on bail months earlier is at large at the moment. nepalnews.com mbk July 22 04
