I am watching US vs Puerto Rico and guess what!! US is getting their ass kicked--yes!!

Their fat contracts, bling bling and the exposure don't mean nothing when they can't work as a team.As much as I love watching NBA I hate to see most of them carry whole lot of ego ..which is so sad...Anyway I hope Puerto Rico wins this game to change US basketball forever...For me whats even scarier is that this team(USA Olympic team) is as talented as any other basketball team in the world..and still they are getting owned by the minnows..

P.S Although US has the collection of best basketball players in the world..I dont understand why when a team wins NBA title..they proclaim..WORLD CHAMPIONS!! I just dont get it.how can you be world champion if you arent competing against the world.??...I would love to see NBA winner battle against Euro champs..

Well, the lead is cut to 12 points now and we have about 7 minutes left. They still have chance.

The US team severely lacks a good jump shooter (H20 would've contributed) and thus if they are guarded in the paint, they cannot sink the balls in. Shame to those players who rejected the invitation.

Still, no matter what the outcome of today's game, US will win it all.

lol

Its official!!! US was owned by the Ricans.

DWI,

You seem to be a NY guy.US definitely lacked some outside shooters, which really killed them.Although some players declined invitation I don't understand why recruiters din't look into inviting some other players who aren't "stars". They could have invited guys like Kyle Krover, Voshon Lenard or something like that.....Anyway Arroyo played awesome and his teamates played well to fit in...

Got that right, Casey00.

That kid Arroyo shined today, must've learned a lot from Stackhouse at Utah. I agree, they should include more atheletic non-star players. Even star players like Rip Hamilton (he turned it down), Wallace could've helped.

These players turned the invitation down (reason: injury, security fears or just don't care) and should be more responsible for US loss:

Elton Brand
Kenyon Martin
Kevin Garnett
Richard Hamilton
Ray Allen
Ben Wallace
Jason Kidd
Mike Bibby
Karl Malone
Reggie Miller
Jermaine OýNeal

Dream Team my arse! Too much media hype, that's all this country is about. Just look at that swimmer kid and all the spotlight that is on him. I hope he gets his ass kicked by the Thorpedo in that one race they are in.....

Confused...KG is not playing cause he was gettin married this summer...cmon' guys..give KG a break ! but i dont know bout others...Shaq daddy should have been there...Bibby should have been there...lil sissies...scared of dying..security reasons my ass!!!

But anyways......US team can bounce back.....they got talents..they need to put it all together....DEFENSE ..thats waht they need.......If they play better defensively, offense will be there.....not a problem......USA WINS GOLD !!!!

Hi guys,

Current Olympic basketball team is talented than any other NBA teams. Agreed???

I don't think it is about talent or Garnett or Shaq..Its about heart and passion, which these players totally lack. Their game is not suited for international level. Just take a look at international basketball; its all about fundamentally correct basketball and playing as a team whereas with these players with some kind os superstar stature its all about fancy dunks and AND 1 moves...I think the only basketball player who is capable of turning things around is Tim Ducan because of his fundamental correct basketball. Anyway I hope US basketball will do better next time..

P.S DWI, I think you were talking about John Stockon :) But I think the kid definitely learnt alot from him the way I see him play.. He was looking GOOD.

Michael Phelps is a talented swimmer, but he will have his work cut out when he faces Thorpedo, Hackett, and Hoogenband, in an enthralling men's 200 meters. That will be a race to watch and to see just how good Phelps is.

US dream team sucked big time today. Just what they deserve.

i am not surprised with the defeat. They deserve to lose with their performance. They have one back to basket player(TD) and 11 slashers in the team. Can you believe that this team does not have true point and pure shooter??? The blame should go to the group of people who assembled the team.

what's up with RJeff??? he took the most shots in the game and end up 3 for 16??? who he think he is?? He ain't playing for NJ Nets where he is the first option. Coaching staffs should share the blame as well with players.

i don't think there should be any excuse to the players who nixed the invitation.... be it garnett or shaq......

best wishes to US team......

Since Krishna mixed Swimming into this thread too, here is an update.
Thorpedo just beat the Olympic record as well as Phelps in the 200 meters. That guy with 17 feet shoes can really paddle well.
Besides, Phelps is relatively new to 200 meters. I am supporting US, but here I actually wanted to support Thorpedo. If Pocket Rocket was there, I'd support him.
