Who the heck is running this sleeper organization ? What tha f*leep are they doing ? Haven't heard Pip Squeek from these idiotic morons sitting on their fat asses and filling up their resume`. The annual functions seem to be fleepin dwindling down every year. WHAT IS GBNC DOING TO BRING OUR NEPALESE COMMUNITY TOGATHER ? THIS ORGANIZATION IS A VERY GOOD EXAMPLE OF WHY NEPAL IS THE WAY IT IS TODAY. INSTEAD OF BRINGING US TOGATHER, OUR SOCIETY HAS BECOME MORE FRAGMENTED AMONG THE VARIOUS GROUPS. ALL THESE NEW GROUPS ARE HOLDING FUNCTIONS ON THEIR OWN WHILE GBNC SITS ON ITS FAT ASS GETTING GREASED UP BY ITS LOYAL CHAMCHA'S. I WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHAT THE CURRENT PRESIDENT'S DONE TO HELP OUR FELLOW PEOPLE IN NEED. HAS HE DONE ANYTHING TO HAVE OUR DEARLY BELOVED GBNC REGISTERED AS A NON PROFIT ORGANIZATION(TO HAVE TAX FREE STATUS TO GET BUSINESS DONATIONS SO THEY CAN HAVE IT WRITTEN OFF IN TERMS OF TAXES)?

bathroomcoffee,

Have you been reading the posting we made on what we have done. If not, i suggest you do so. If you have suggestions or want to organize something, we am ready to talk to you. Do you want to meet to discuss this?

We cannot prevent anyone from organizing an event, can we? We can only extend our support, which we do. In terms of what we have done I suggest you read my earlier posting.

"We are organizing our annual Summer BBQ event along with a 5k walk/race on Aug 21 weekend. This event is for us - Boston's Nepali community. Proceeds from the 5K race are going for charity in Nepal"

This is A event. What did you do to help our people in need ? Its easy to say I helped.. but it svery hard to list the deeds. You certainly are speaking like a true politician in training. And what is this charity that you re talking about ? Is there a name to this fictitious Charity in Nepal ?

Mr. SabhaPuti:
I am not from Boston, yet your first posting on this thread was full of attitude. The second one declared the CharpiCoffee "wrong". People blame or honor you only because you are the SabhaPuti. You need to learn to take all the blames and honors equally.People, will be pissed off at you, but you can't do the same to them.Because you are the SabhaPuti.
Good Luck.
From what I know, GBNC is a great community, keep it active guys.
DP.

Let me get this straight - you want Ashu to help with the ruins of the nepalese embassy even though he is not the ambassador or doesnot even live in DC .. but you don't want to help GNBC because you are not the president ....

Over the past few weeks, some of you have been constantly criticizing GBNC council members for their ýinactivityý. You should be critical, of course. But, you should criticize in a constructive manner, in a decent way. Besides, it would have been nice on your part had you done some research on the councilýs activities so far this year before making these baseless allegations. Let me make our case on what the council has done this year and how our programs differ from past GBNC programs. As our President mentioned to you earlier, organizing entertainment programs and social parties should not be the sole purpose of this organization. Moreover, the organization should focus on other substantive challenges of 2,000 plus Nepalese professionals, students, and workers and their families residing around the Boston area. We did not find any of these issues and challenges addressed in our organization before. At the beginning of the term, the council brainstormed over various challenges faced by Nepalese students, professionals, food service industry workers, families, and children. To address these challenges effectively, we formed special interest groups (most of them are GBNC council members) under the organization. These groups are responsible in conducting meetings, panel discussions, workshops, etcetera to address various issues and challenges in our community.
Having said that let me give you a list of programs the council has organized so far:
1.Momo Party
2.Organized Student Career Transition Workshop
3.Published Quarterly GBNC E-Khabar
4.Formed Professional Development Network
6.Formed Social Issues Special Interest Group

Besides, we organized few entertainment programs for our community- Happy Hours, Sur Sudha musical concert, etc. We are also organizing career workshop for food service industry workers, families, students in near future (please read our Presidentýs postings on these issues earlier in this forum). On the socializing front, we will be organizing barbeque, hiking, and Dashain program in coming days. There are other Nepalese organizations like Tamu Samaaz who are also organizing many social and entertainment programs for our community. We should laud their efforts in bringing such programs to us and give them our helping hand.

Now, let me ask you some questions. Have you participated in any of our programs? In what ways have you contributed to GBNC? We are putting our best efforts to bring this community together by addressing their substantive issues and challenges. You should not forget that we council members have our full time jobs. Still, we are trying our best to serve our community in many different ways. I am not saying the council has performed at its best as per membersý expectations. We have our constraints, we have our shortcomings, and we have failed somewhere. To make this organization more effective and to cater the needs of our members, we have urged GBNC members so many times to come forward and play a role in taking this organization to a new level. Instead, you are trying to discourage our dedicated, hardworking council by waging indecent verbal war on public forums anonymously. Why canýt you come forward in person to share your thoughts with us? The President holds GBNC office hours, why canýt you call him or any of us to discuss about GBNC issues? We will be glad to discuss with you. And one more thing-success of GBNC programs do not depend entirely on the President and the executive council, but it also depends upon the level of cooperation and participation from its fellow members.

Cheers!
Ishwar Khatiwada
Vice President, GBNC

We are organizing our annual Summer BBQ event along with a 5k walk/race on Aug 21 weekend. This event is for us - Boston's Nepali community. Proceeds from the 5K race are going for charity in Nepal"

I dunno much abt gbnc and neither i am interested but jus a lil thought i saw this line in both the threads this one and the earlier one, what does the president of whoever of gbnc mean by the above lines,
IS GBNC PROGRAMS STRICTLY FOR NEPALI PEOPLE FROM BOSTON." event is for us-boston;s nepali community"

AS for bathroomcoffee he is jus one of those ppl who jus know how to sit and bitch but, it;s his nature everybody is not the same.
AS for the first reply of president of gbnc president, with president tag in ya name there comes resposiblities , i hope u have done tht good , as i dunno much abt gbnc . but u should also be able to response to criticism and complains ( bitches wht ever u wanna call) in the same way. if u start to have the same attitude as other ppl does , what;s the difference between the president and member of the council.

Jus mah penny thought coz i saw this gbnc thing in couple other threads, but i am still curious to know abt that line president wrote for us-boston neapalese or whtever tht was....
