Brit Newspapers Approve Juvenile Drug Abuse

The Daily Telegraph brushed off fresh allegations that George Bush used
Class A narcotics as 'mere embroidery' this week, suggesting such
behaviour could actually boost his popularity.

"Kitty Kelly's new details about his supposed marijuana and cocaine
habits are mere embroidery on the familiar Bush legend: drunk cleans up
act, becomes Governor of Texas, wins presidency," the (generally
pro-Bush) broadsheet said in an editorial.

"The frustrating thing for squeaky-clean John Kerry is that the Bush
legend is exactly the sort of legend that people love," they sniffed.

However, Kitty Kelly, whose new book outlines W's drug history in
detail, appeared in the Sunday Times this week to emphasise his continuing
refusal to deny the allegations ('there were too many people who could
testify to the truth' she claimed) and his hypocrisy.

"As governor of Texas, he took a hard line on drugs," Ms. Kelly pointed
out.

"He supported increased penalties for possession and signed legislation
mandating jail time for people caught with less than a single gram of
cocaine. Yet, as the claims of Sharon Bush, his sister-in-law, show, he
could have been subject to jail time himself, had he been caught 'doing
coke' with his brother Marvin during his father's presidency," she
said.

Meanwhile in Scotland, leading newspaper The Scotsman celebrated the
20th birthday of delinquent royal Prince Harry with an equally
open-minded examination of the young Royal's drug crimes.

"Prince Harry and his ne'er-do-well posh friends had been puffing the
magic dragon (smoking marijuana- slang Ed), and daddy wasn't happy.
Immediately people talked of a prince in peril," said the Scotsman.

"But was his rowdy behaviour so unexpected? Or, in fact, so damaging?
Children of privilege always kick back at some stage - just look at
Paris Hilton's sex-romp video - and it may, bizarrely, have been one of
the best things to happen to the Windsors," they suggested.

When is it Wiser to Keep a Secret?

Barefoot Doctor: "The wisest people usually seem to have the capacity
to keep secrets to themselves because it's certainly true that the
moment you release a secret you make yourself vulnerable. Though this isn't
necessarily a bad thing-
vulnerability derives from softness and softness as opposed to rigidity
equates to life- feeling the fear of others having power over you, is
all part of the rich tapestry of life.

Conversely you should always do what you can to keep other peoples'
secrets sacred because betraying a confidence never pays. Otherwise, like
a bank which opens its vaults to the public, people will no longer want
to invest (their energy) in you.

When it comes to your own life-story though, always remember that
you're never under any obligation to tell anyone anything or everything.
You're free to use your personal edit button as much as you like,
particularly when you know that by revealing certain things you'll cause others
and/ or yourself, unnecessary pain.

Though it must be said that the less personal secrets you hang on to
then the more self-accepting and self-forgiving you will be, which will
leave you freer and lighter, hence healthier and more vital."

"Fashion is always slightly ahead of the curve culturally and people
are tiring of celebrities. Reality TV and the internet have cheapened
being a 'celebrity'."

Tony Blair's Hooligan Fashion Faux Pas

Tony Blair's decision to dress in the soccer hooligan designer label of
choice Burberry backfired this week, when the firm reportedly stopped
producing their baseball caps to distance themselves from 'designer
yobs'.

Britain's notorious war-loving PM was spotted wearing Burberry on his
recent vacation with Italian nationalist Silvio Berlusconi just days
before Leicester pub chain the Barracuda Group banned all Burberry items
from their bars.

"Well known football hooligans have a dress code," top soccer violence
cop PC Karen Holdridge explained in the Guardian. "These people are
recognised as coming into the city, day in day out and causing trouble."

Blair's wellknown penchant for dressing like a violent thug came into
the spotlight last week too, when top anthropologist Richard Dawkins
published a report on the PM's curious gait.

"Several commentators have noticed that, especially when in his
company, he imitates Bush's macho 'cowboy swagger' with arms held out to the
sides as though ready to reach for two pistols," said Mr Dawkins.

"The same element of imitation may account for Blair's reported
penchant for wearing cowboy boots in private."
