First of all, I would like to thank friends from Sajha.com for giving me the privilege
to hand over the money to Raneesh in Kathmandu.

Meeting Raneesh and his mother (second picture, far left, looking at papers) at their apartment in Maitidevi, Kathmandu was both humbling and inspiring.

Raneesh -- from Kalaiya, Bara-- is a second-year BSc student at Tri Chandra College
in Kathmandu. He is one of the "toppers" at his college.

I would also like to thank Sajha's Web master San and his family members in Nepal (especially his father and brother) who worked very, very hard behind the scenes to locate and to establish communication with Raneesh and his family in Kathmandu. From start to finish, San's family members were a delight to work with.

As plans stand, Raneesh and his mother hope to leave for India for further treatment (i.e. kidney transplant) next week. One of Raneesh's uncles has come forth as a kidney donor. The total estimated cost of treatment is: One million or ten lakh Nepali rupees.

Meantime, in Nepal, for the past one month, NEPALONE, a TV station, has been collecting money (yet to be handed over to Raneesh), and I understand that it
has further arranged to pay for Raneesh's travel to Delhi, India.

***

Bideshi, you might want to contact Mr. Purusottam Ghimire or Mr. Shiva Lamsal
at NepalOne TV Station. I will post their phone numbers and email addresses later.

Thank you everyone; and let us pray that Raneesh gets better soon.
