As you people have raised some question on divorce...then I do agree that women are not well justified in that. I mean a guy who is active in the economic has relative freedom when considered with the women that doesn`t have any option. Together they can make a perfect life.. man earning money women taking care of his life...but if they are to get divorced... then women have too less option and that is furthermore added if they have small children... which usually stays with mother and the divorced father don`t have to bear any economical load. Sweet pie if you raise voices in this issues well I do agree with you....but taking down whole system and labelling everything bad..is too hard for me to digest

There is no womens right in nepal and boys are always saying bad things to girls and following them and when women go to the police, police say, do not come out of the house and you are girl so boys will tease you. In HonkKong it is very nice and boys do not tease girls so I came to leave in HK. I am not going back to nepal because women have not respect and no one treats women nicely.

I feel so sorry for ppl wasting their time ny arguing on the above discussion. Here, person who is lobbying for women right is feel with so hatred and anger, she doesn' t have anything to say but stating her hatred towards men. One have to understand to get a goal one have to have a help from different parties too.On the other hand there are ppl who cannot digest real truth. They are totally on denial. One have to understand after coming to USA, she learnt how women are given equal rigths and protected by constituions. That is good she wants her fellow nepali women to enjoy same as she is having in USA. I am also onto in, definitely and I know lots of Nepali borthers are too. But having said this what i wanna say is we will be nowhere if we headbutt everytime we discuss about above subject. One has come to USA to get knowledge as it is consider most developed nation in world. So lets think about it in American way. Trying to figure out the root of problem. Solving a problem one at a time. As we know even in usa women were denied their basic rights. They didn't get what they are enjoying today all at a time. It all came one after another in an appropriate time. We know women were denied voting in usa till late 19th century, but we have that arleady so no need to do that. They started bringing bills one after another in an appropriate manner. The reason they did that cuz they want society to adapt slowly one at a time cuz if u bombard all at a time it may backfired. Here I want to give an example, to harvest a rice paddy one have to plough a field. Once u plough u have to water it but if u do excessive it will go wrong so u have to know how long n how much u need to water. Once it is done u throw a seed. It grows and once its is about half a foot tall u pull it out and stake. On the other side u will be doing same ploughinga field and watering it. Later u sew the rice paddy and time to time u nurture it and when it grows it fully than u get a rice. This mean we have to prepare our society for change and during that process we need to nurture ppl by giving hands on refreshment on policies. For me this is the time to jump start for womens' movement in Nepal cuz of the situation of nepal currently. The situation of Nepal resembles ditto as USA during World War II. As everybody who have gone to any American Schools the movement got a boost during world war II. The reason was there was a shortage of manpower in industries cuz all the man went to war. Very few men were left and factories(even military installments) were forced to hire women as a worker and women prove to be very hard worker.Once women were able to selfreliant they have choices and even society started to accept a new role of women. Once they find society is ready to change they started bringing legislation for women rights and ppl accepted it.Right now its same in nepal too men are fleeing from villages and remote bustis in fear of maobaadis and security forces. Women in those places are seeing new and revised role in thier family cuz they have to take a charge of their families even though men are the one who are earning bread n butter by working in india,or gulf countries. They have got all say in monetary purposes right now, it may not be in more cases but i have seen it during my visit in nepal this summer. If the problem continued in Nepal i can see we may have to use women workforce too may be we have to give them a job according to their skill levels but we have to do sooner or later. The chain of this events will make society to think and change. Does this meant we just wait for a right time seat back? Definitely not, we have to inutiate it. For this we need help from society, govermet and as we know society is not only made up of women it is of men too. Thats why to get a goal we have to get help from men too. Yeah during this process many men may not want to change but most of them will. The one who don;t want they will be left alone and having being left behind will force them to join to this revolution. But first we have to make ready to our society before bringing radical changes.

Here are my thoughts.
1) Establish affirmitive action policy: we know in nepal literary rate of men is higher than women. To achieve that we have to start some goverment funding speacially for women to teach them read and write for elderly. For girls we have to convince parents to send them to school or have to pay some consequences(this may be hars but need to do if u have to get a goal.
2) we have to bring ammendment which states one cannot discriminate on employment opportunity on the basis of sex, caste(we know the problem lies here too) and regional affiliation( like taraiwasi are discriminated in goverment workplace)
3) Establishing a EEOC. It will monitor the hiring process of the companies and should be given authority to fine them.
4) EquL Pay Right= women should be given equal pay as men. I find this very disturbing its practice very commonly from low wages to higher classes.it should also covered that jobs held by men and women need to "substantially equal" but not "identical".it have to be done cuz an emplouer many change the job titles of women worker in order to pay them less than a men.
5)EMILY's law(that what they say here in usa but we can find suitable name for our purpose): EMILY's list(early money is like a yeast) should be establish for women n lower caste as a financial network for pro-choice Democratic women running for national or local political office. Ths makes a significant impact on increasing numbers of women elected to decision makind posts.
6) Sexul and caste basis harrasment should be counted as a form or illegal job discrimnation. one who found doing so should ba penalized by different means. Companies should be penalized monetarily where as individual shoud be marked so that it will be reviewed during a promotions.
7)Tightening a laws for sex offenders, ppl commiting violence against women
8)Establishing a funds service for victims of rape and domestic violence, and providing a special training of police officers.
9) Mandating a law for companies to train their workforce to understand this acts.
I think this are the things which may can help. During the course we may have to twik here and there but it can be achieved. To get this goal we need equal help from a men too so instead of seeing root of problem we should be able to bring them to our revolution. Having said this i am just trying to give my ideas that i learnt in my workplace.
P.S. writer works(as an intern) for DoD s' EEOC office as mediator for job disputes on the basis of sex, race, color, physical disability and age.

i am 100 percent that only 2 percent of 100 will understand what i am saying? if 2 percent understand then i have my purpose served..I hope this issue....

Those who say spirituality has nothing to do with politics, declared Gandhi, " Do not know what spirituality really means." what do u think he was drving at libra? I'll tell u i think since he used the term " sprituality." not " relegion", I surmise that he wasn't referring to belief systems like hinduism, Buddhism, Christanity, Judasim or islam. Rather he was talking about being guided by love, seeking the highest good for as many people as possible, and opening one's heart to the interconnectness of everything.

God bless who understand my crypto...........

Hey swaati good points. The only reason that has filled me with anger and disgust is the cluster of male trying to criticize me with curses and not even admitting to the things that are true. What is more disturbing is that these are the young educated men from this generation. If they have this view then what are the chances that only woman like me can do something with the society? It might take forever!

Hey sweetpie... I think you don`t read the response in the thread carefully. If you have time... once again go through it.. In which response did I said that I am against women`s right... but yeah I did criticised you... cause you were talking nothing more than the immature kid... and those it means that because you are women we have to accept everything that you said.. and if we don`t accept it.. be become anti- women... you must be kid to think that... You are here with anger baby... so as everyone says anger kills your intelligence.. you have lost your intelligence.. As for always saying GIVE ME BRAKE.... go take a break and read all the message once again carefully...and as for last word moneyminded said 'opening one's heart to the interconnectness of everything'.. probably you will get the meaning from it.
