What a bunch of whiners are those yankees, and Arod specially, being the kind of player he is( all that stardom and money), he goes out and clearly swipes the ball out of Arroyo's hand and actually argue the call once its overturned, that's just pathetic, and how about those fans throwing stuff onto the field, they showed their class i guess, i think red sox are getting into their brains and now they are questioning themselves, time to wake up.....or they will be history as the first team to surrender a 0-3 lead in mlb history..........

Arod was going to be out no matter what. Atleast he tried and almost got away with it.

Do you really watch baseball?? Managers always argue the play no matter what.

Class?? TV showed replay of a yankee-redsox playoff game where boston fans threw
debris when jose offerman was called out. So, this shit happens everywhere.

joe torre arguing the call is understandable, as u said, he is the manager and he is supposed to know why the call was overturned, but A-rod knows very well what happened, for him to react the way he did was classless, A-rod instead of swatting the ball could have tried to avoid the tag only and maybe he could have been safe, swatting the ball wasn't his only option, he tried it anyway hoping to get away with it.....good thing umpires made the right call 2 times in the game and kept it fair at the end

U gotta be kidding me.

Yeah, A-rod was definately doing an acting job, but to call the Yankees whiners is just absurd. A-rod might have sacrificed his class for his team. Yes, it might have cost some credibility points with umpires which is important in future. But this is a part of game. Haven't we seen the oscar winning show by Maradona, Beckham and even Jordan etc? He had to defeat it as one of the umpire had already given him the Safe call (without him touching the base plate) and it could've meant a possible run (without an out).

What Yankee fans did was justifiable. First they want the umpires to be leanient towards their team. Second they didn't see exactly if A-Rod hit Arroyo's hand purposely or not. I didn't see it the first time and I was watching via precise Television Cameras. Call overturns are treated seriously by everybody and to have a call overturn without sufficient proof (only one umpire saw it and they don't get to review replays in baseball) is a big deal.

At the end, nobody whined or cried like Red Sox normally do, humor intended.

Hey unknown

You have to agree with brainiac and DWI.

A ROD was going to be out anyway so he clung to a straw and almost got away as the first base umpire called safe even though he did not step on the base. But when Francona protested, the main umpire knew immediately what went.

One disadvantage: Jeter had to return to the first base.

Previous experiences or history showed such incidences or Accidents never occured in favor of the SOX but times are changing and things are definitely not going YANKEE way.

Go Red SOX GO!!!!!!

I am waiting for ROCKET to pitch in the Fenway Park.

i cannot help but post the same sh8t in two different threads....hehehhe...last night was incredible...

from BOSTON GLOBE:

Across the region, children in pajamas and Red Sox shirts stayed up way past their bedtime, posting runs on homemade scoreboards and popping balloons on which they had drawn faces of Yankees players.

Fans across the region celebrated with family members, both living and dead. At the Breezeway Bar and Grill in Roxbury, Jack Wilkins yelled, 'We got 'em! We finally got 'em!" as he watched the game with three generations of his family.

''First thing tomorrow, I'm going to my father's grave, and I'm going to sing, 'Who's your daddy?' " a reference to the chant that Yankees fans used to taunt Red Sox pitcher Pedro Martinez.

A few miles away, near Fenway, Mark Von Duyke was pushing his wife, Joan, who uses a wheelchair, across the Brookline Avenue overpass above the Mass Pike.

''This is the happiest day of our lives, except for the day we got married," Mark Von Duyke said as the cheering crowds parted to let the couple pass.

oh that was so real!!!

"I don't know what I tried to do," Rodriguez said. "I knew he was coming. I know the line belongs to me. Maybe looking back, I should have probably just tried to run him over. Because once I reach and try to knock the ball, the rule goes against me."

So a-rod doesn't know what he is trying to do taking a swipe at arroyo's hand, give me a break, he doesn't know he tried to cheat while even his manager joe torre said it was not the right thing to do.......

this is what schill had to say during espn radio talk show,
"That was freakin' junior high baseball at its best," he said. "First of all, Bronson wasn't in the baseline to begin with. He could have easily broken his arm. C'mon, that was tired."
Schilling continued to malign Rodriguez by comparing him unfavorably to Jeter. He said Jeter would not have done what Rodriguez did because Jeter is a class act and a professional. Schilling said that Rodriguez could end up as the greatest player ever, but that he would not consider him classy.

kevin millar even suggested a-rod should pad up and play football for the packers( that's fitting, i hate those cheeseheads)

whatever, the point is A-rod Sux, and he truly showed his class by his acts
