well, friends I am a new member on sajha family. I i found this forum to be really cool. The best thing about this forum is, you can post your queries expecting diverse kind of answers and solutions. This is really wonderful.
Now coming to the point, I am at the moment in Europe and as expected, you will find a lot of Indians here. Though I had done my schooling in India, I have a general Nepalese feeling towards India and Indians......... Got it......... I don't like them. Though there is no Indian in my class, I happen to meet a lot of those guys in and out of my college. Whenever I introduce myself as a Nepalese, their first reaction is .... you don't look like Nepali.... rather you look like a North Indian. I hate to be addressed as an Indian. I am a Nepali by birth and I am Nepali by 'looks' too...
well, I am quite a Nepalese looking guy. Though, I don't believe in cast system, my ancestors happen to be Brahmins and my Grandpa was a pundit. I look like all those common Rame, Harke, Bhunte, Kale, Hari, krishna and so on whom we would meet everyday on the streets of Kathmandu, Bhairahawa, Nepalgunj, Dhading, Rolpa, Pyuthan, charikot, taplejung, dadeldhura, baitadi, ramechhap or wherever in Nepal. So I am proud to be a Nepali and happy to have a Nepalese 'look'. The Indian guy's perception is Nepalese people are Mongolian faced as they have told me that they meet all those Nepali watchmen, chinese restaurant workers and other workers in their cities. Yep, we do have Chinese (oriental) looking people in Nepal, but is it true that they are the original occupants of Nepa and we are just immigrants, just happened to come to nepal from some other part of world in previous times.
Though, I have no thing to do with those indian's perception but for my enthuiasm, could anyone tell me about the history of nepal with respect to the people residing here. Like who are the original residents of Nepal and what is the general 'look' of nepalese people.
