Is it true? By 2032 50% of earth species will be on the verge of extinction from the face our planet ? Rather than resulting from causes beyond our control, such as an asteroid, some scholars have discussed with an evidence that the "Sixth Mass Extinction" can occur by the human cause such as Global Warming (most likely) as a result of which numerous gigantic disaster will hit the earth to sweep away lives.

I am not an expert but I sure some you guys may have done reading on this matter. You guys mind to share some of ur knowledge on this regard ?

Sorry Cardinal I dont have good source, that is why I am askin you guys to put some of your views. I just saw headline "Possibility of Mass Extinction by 2032" in my college journal calling students to attain the forum hosted by some intelluctual figures. Didn't get chance to attain so I put topics here in Sajha. I don't think that forum was to create any kind of havoc among us but seems like, motive was to aware we people about green house effect caused by human precipitation and its after effect. Beside that I got no clue.

When human induced land use changes effect combines with possible future climate change scenarios like global warming effect(increase in greenhouse gases like CO2), then their combined synergistic effect will increases the rate of biodiversity loss.

I suspect that the conclusion was drawn from some bloody research papers. The problem is that there is too much money floating around to fund these unnecessary 'researches'. The poor researchers have to come up with some interesting conclusions. If u dont, u have to conjure one and make it more interesting. If the research finds nothing new and interesting, how do you justifiy the expenses that probably consumed thousands of dollars and many manhours. Thats why they come up with something like "there is a possibility that........" or "we dont find evidence to negate the notion that theere will not be a mass extinction.....". And there are these reporters......!

Of course, there is a possibility that rice could be grown in Mars.
There is a possibility that one day Nepal will have good leaders.
There is a possibility that one day man will live in Jupiter.
There is a possibility that yours truly JagaltayBhoot will be the president of the United States of America one day.

Confused you may have seen fiction about Smallpox somewhere in Sci-fi channel, which I have never heard about. I dont think Epidemic can bring Mass extinction.

Anything may be a 'likely' casuse for a mass extinction, Galactic Collision (here I am not talking about sano tino asteriods, its about galaxy), WMD (most likely, I can explain how; but not here) and if not those two, then climatic catastrophe. Latter is most ignored than anything else but for sure will be 'not less' devastating than former two.

bro, i do love my environment, i do love where i live and i am not against those ppl who do such research. What i hate and have problem with is publicizing these data's to ppl like u and me and making it a big deal. Bro, we sud care abt our environment, we sundnt throw trash on streets, we sud recycle products, etc, etc, these are the only basic things we need to be educated in.
