Did Girija advertently or inadvertently know about this and called it a Grand Design? No- this was adrupt move by King G. Otherwise Girija would have been out of the country.
Was this what Mohammed Mohsin hinted several weeks ago? That was his wise guess because he felt government is asakchyam, I had made same guess right from the begining when Gyanendra was crowned.
Did King Jigme Singhe Wangchuk of Bhutan know about this when he made the speech last week saying that something has to be done because Maoist Insurgency is spilling beyond Nepal's border and affecting his own country? No, but Jigme's speech might have motivated King. He was reluctant to learn that mere BHOTE dare to comment about Nepal's plight. So king le sahanai nasakera yesto gareko.
Were Americans duped in helping to strengthen the Army, which is now going to be under the comand of Monarchy? (not what Americans had intended) ? America doesn't care about King's coup, only they are concern about is, how to wipe out Moaist insuregency so that they no sooner can hold the power and Nepal won't be under Chinese sphere of Influence.
Was King G's action somehow instigated - in a convoluted sense - by President Bush's inaugural speech in which he proclaimed that, as established foreign policy, the United States will not tolerate despots? Perhaps, Americans have withdrawn their military support, so King G is proactively taking actions before anything else develops? Bush didnt proclaim that to the country like Nepal. Otherwise he wouldn't be supporting Sudanese Government to wipe out under privilege community in Dafur region. Otherwise Musaraf wouldn't be enjoying. I mean how hard- liner the government be in any country, US wont interfere unless that conflict with US intrest.
Having seen much worse Iraq holding a successful election, did King G got really pissed at Deuba last weekend for being ... once again.... "asakchyam" ?
Maybe - He might have thought "Muji Iraq ma ta Chunab huncha, yo muji Government le Nepal ma kasari garnu sakdaina"
