Nepal Congress to join hands with Maoists

SILIGURI, Feb. 7. ? The Maoist movement in Nepal is likely to gather mainstream political momentum soon. As part of the planned movement of political parties of Nepal in a same platform, the Nepal Congress Party has decided to welcome Maoists and join hands with them.
(cited from paramendra's thread and originally from "the statesman" patrika)

I don't think Congressi will join the Maoist.

Nepali Congress Maobadi ?? The name does not seem right for me.

Maoists are the byproduct of the rules of these congressi's. How can they collabrate? its not going to work out.

The king and his administration will make it look like Moaists are the traitors if they do not come to the negotiation table and will try to win the support of India. Anyway, the indians support the king from behind.

King will be stronger if Moabadi's dont come to talk, at least superficially.

As I had said earlier, these so called netas are so pathetic! Moreover, they don't mind becoming terrorist themselves. Wouldn't joining a terrorist organisation (in their own words) make themselves the terrorists.

And half of the Nepalies are so stupid that they follow the Netas blindly without even a pinch of conscious. ma kay bhanu? its almost unbeareable just to imagine.

All nepalese people, Parties and King must be very very careful with Girija Koirala.

He will do anything whatever he likes. He does not have any concern about Nepal, Nepalese and country's situation. He is more than stupid and corrupted crook. He can betery Nepal and Nepalese any time any moment.

If Nepal can be sell like comodities or goods, B.P and Girija Koirala might be sold Nepal to India. These people can not trust what so ever.....

We better watch out Girija.............

Kudos to Zalim SIngh: You took my words...

" these politicians remind me of the bhusya kukurs in my neighborhood. when they have the whole neighborhood to themselves, they constantly fight amongst one another. whenever a new threat emerges, they surprisingly gang up against the new threat. "

Like these dogs, our leaders also rely on others to throw food to them or they have to do "bhrastachar" ..they can't earn their livelihood by themselves.. Oh man, I am at loss of words to explain these netas' chartikala.."GU Lai Kottyayer ganayo bhannu bhanda, nakotyaunu nai jati..hoin ra????

India suspends military assistance to Nepal
A week into the King's power grab there is still a lot of dust settling.
The biggest news is India's decision to suspend military aid to Nepal and
they have taken other measures to show they're strong disapproval of the
King's actions, such as refusing to attend the upcoming SAARC conference.
It's not completely clear why India has taken such a strong stance, though
it fits within their broader approach to Nepal, which has been to support
multi-party government. It could possibly be a combination of the widespread
outcry from the Indian media over Gyanendra's action and the Indian
government's shock at their stand on the situation being expressly
contradicted.

India's stance on suspending military aid to Nepal could partially be attributed to China's potential foreign policies. If we see a larger picture, India's Naxalite movement was started on the initiative and inspiration of Peking's foreign policy in the Indian subcontinent during the 1960s-- the weakening negotiation on Sino-Indian border and India's alignment with the US and USSR led China to aggressively support Pakistan and later to ignite socio-cultural uprisings (later to emerge as maoist movement) within India that will keep the country divided and more supportive of Chinese communism.

If we see things under similar light, how countries act internationally has little to do with Nepal's betterment, or even individual country's policies. US, China, and India- their interests and subsequentn moves to attain those intersets will determine Nepal's future.

I would like to know what IF has to say on this, since he seems to be well read about China's policies.

Reminders of recent attitude of Nepali Congress and UML towards Maoist Main Agenda of Constituent Assembly that took more than 10,000 lives in Nepal.

The following news cutting is cited from the article "The Forgotten Civil War-New Hope for an End to the Nepalese Maoist Rebellion?" by Tilak P. Pokharel, World Press Review correspondent,Kathmandu, Nepal,Feb. 8, 2003.

------------- This time around, Nepal?s largest political parties at least seem more inclined to consider the possibility. Though the issue has since split Nepal?s two primary parties, Narahari Acharya, a leader of Nepal?s largest political party, the Nepali Congress (NC), told reporters, ?Going for a constituent assembly is the only possible solution to the situation of violence and unrest.? Madhav Kumar Nepal, general secretary of the Communist Party of Nepal?Unified Marxist and Leninist (CPN-UML) told reporters, ?We don?t rule out the possibility of constituent assembly if it will afford a better way out of the current crisis.? -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------(Here, I SUSPECT IN THE NEAR FUTURE, THEIR TONE MIGHT BE CHANGED AND START SUPPORTING ALL THE WAYOUT OF THE PRESENT GOVERNMENT, WE CAN'T SAY THEY WON'T DO IT) As quickly became apparent the next day, however, not everyone is sold on the idea. NC President Girija Prasad Koirala feared the country?s ?two armed forces [the army and the Maoist rebels] would come together against the democratic forces.(SURPRISINGLY, NOW THE NEPALI CONGRESS IS WILLING TO JOIN MAOIST TO FIGHT AGAINST PRESENT FORCE) ?

What to believe and what not to ????????????????????????????????????????????. I think, we should take these things very seriously and carefully to understand the language of politics.........

Actually, the KING G wants all the political parties to join MAOISTS movement.

Why?

It will not be easy to eliminate the political parties like Nepali Congress and UML and take all the power by himself. At some point of time he will have to give back democracy to the people.

If the major political parties join the Maoists and they can be labelled as Terroists and killing / eliminating them from the political scenario will be easier and the human rights orgs and international community will not make that much noise.

For sure it will be difficult for RNA to tackle fortified Maoist movement and will take longer time but as RNA gain more support from the international community and when they work wholeheartedly, it will be successful.

Well the Maoists have done the job of elimating leaders of political parties at the lower level (village and district level). Now it's the job of Ganendra to finish off the job of eliminating leadership at the top level. Lets hope he does this job with great passion.

I support the king, and he should kill them all specially that buda GP koirala, why doesn't he do his dirty work himself, Why can't they understand majority of the Nepali is happy that our king took over the government and most Nepali are optimistic that finally our country will be back on track. I urge all our Nepali brothers and sisters to continue to support the king and disregard these corrupted netas

I have never studied political science in my life, and including me, no one of my family members were political leader or never I was taught about all rajnitishashtra of Nepal. Only what I have learnt is all that came from radio, media, ratnapark ko julush, sathibhai ko hallakhalla, and 24 hours of complaints yo bhayena ra tyo bhayena. So, I don't know what are the major political agenda of chyaau umre jasta party haru in Nepal, and what's their political ethics. But, what I have learnt from these things is quit different to me, and new topics for me, and really surprising for me, which I never had expected.
