kandeltika, i have an assumption that you work for muncha. are you trying to promote the site? when someone explicitly mentions a website over and over i think s/he is asking for some free promotion. sorry for asking! couldn't resist since you've been posting the link for muncha money ;)

I think you have to give them your credit card information
and the bank details to validate your account.

They will also ensure that you have given the right address (home address).... but I don't know how.

I will open up a bank account and then will think of validating my account.

Somebody confirm if my info. is correct (I am not sure myself!!)

What is the maximum amount anyone has sent using these money transfer service(other than paypal)? I know they have a limit of $7500 or something per transaction, but what is the largest amount you would send thru them in one transaction without feeling uncomfortable about their service or without having a feeling of risk?

If they didn't charge ridiculuously large fee for using credit cards compared to internet checks, I would have no problem sending $2000-$3000 per transcation. I need to send a good sum for an occassion back home, but I don't feel as easy as I should doing this through these kind of money transfer service. Anyone feel the same way?

What about thamel.com? How do they compare to muncha.com and moneytonepal.com?

OK. Here is how the paypal stuff works.

1. First you need to have an account.

2. Then you need to add a bank account number.

3. After you add a bank account number, paypal deposits two small amounts of money in your account(For eg. They might deposit .53 and .67). This might take a few days.

4. After the money has been deposited you log in to paypal and verify the amounts that has been deposited. There is a link that says verify your bank account or somethin' you click on that and input the two amounts that were deposited in your account.

5. Hurray!!! Your account has been verified.

6. You click on the link to order the debit card

This process is based on my experience. I hope it works for u guys.

The following is from Paypal's FAQ page and it appears to me that you can not use a paypal ATM card to withdraw money in any ATM although it has mastercard logo...but only at ATMs that display Cirrus/Maestro logo. Does anyone know if these particular logos are as popular in Nepal as here? Any comments from those who have sent a second card to family members to withdraw money in Nepal?

# How do I withdraw funds from my PayPal account using my PayPal ATM/Debit Card?

You can use your PayPal ATM/Debit Card at any ATM worldwide that displays the Cirrus/Maestro logo. To withdraw cash, select "Checking Account" when prompted by the ATM. The amount of cash that you can withdraw from your PayPal account is subject to your daily ATM withdrawal limit.

You can also use your PayPal ATM/Debit Card at any merchant displaying the MasterCard symbol.

Paypal says 2.9% for recieving funds each time; that's more than the conventional muncha or thamel.com

Dear All,

Sending money to Nepal seems a complicated job. All these website sending money take huge service charge. I used to use these nepali websites but they were not reliable. So the best and cheap way to send money nepal is through "MONEYGRAM" one can find easily in every "WAL MART" . Western union is another option but they take great service charge and they pay very low exchange rate. Through "MONEYGRAM" they only take $ 9.46 up to $500.00 and one can receive money as fast as within 10 minutes. You can also send it online through www.moneygram.com
So everybody try moneygram and find the difference......
This is not any agent for moneygram....am also like you guys....who already suffered from those websites......
Take it easy....!!! choice is again yours.....Have fun mites....
