Guys,

Can you guess what could be India's true motive behind suspending military support and trying to keep check on King.

I doubt they are doing this for restoration of democracy in Nepal. Coz' how can you expect a country which is supporting total authoritian government in Bhutan to come out and cry for democracy? How can a country who is totally ignoring and in some extend supporting the HR violation of Bhutanese by bhutanese King to come out and cry to stop violation of HR in Nepal.

I guess this move was just to show it is still Bully Big brother in South Asian region. Time has come for us to reply back with build much deeper friendship with other SAARC countries and China.

I think India is opposing king for following two reasons:

1) Old enemity between Royal Family and Gandhi Family which started between Late King Birendra and Rajiv Gandhi over the reason related to Sonia Gandhi ( current Indian rulling party chief)

2) It has always been easy for India to exploit nepal and eat it up part by part because of greedy political leaders. So they want corrupt politicians and beurocrats back in power so that they can eat nepal part by part ... and we can not blame India for this ... every one will do the same if the government in our country itself is greedy, incompetent and corrupt....

In last 14 years india exploited nepal badly proof Tanakpur, Koshi Barage, Kalapani and many more..

They were always successful to buy nepalese politicians and beurocrats easily.... our beurocrats and politicians sold country's part even for small thing like a seat for their children in Indian University......

I guess before taking Indian pressure as global pressure for democracy we should think deeply why is that pressure comiing over to us... if its democracy then why not bhuta or burma why only nepal....

Butanese king attended indias republic day parade as chief guest... hahaha what a joke... their prime minister is not ready to share dias with our king in SAARC just because of Feb 01 but their president is ready to celebrate a republic day with totally authorotian king.....

Time has come for us to think...it is sad that even US and UK are undermining the facts and following India blindly....

For Meri Nepal Aama's information,
Indian troops were stationed in Kalapani area from the 1970s. It was only after the 1990's change of system that brought about the truth to general public. However, in principles, I also think that India's intentions were not always good while dealing with Nepal and we cannot expect them to unselfishly help us at our need. We have to restore democracy ourselves rather then expecting from Indian or American pressure. The democracy thus obtained will be potentially messy. Saying so, you shouldn't ignore the importance of a good relationship between India however nicely the relationship with china developes.
My point is, don't blame India or Indians but blame our own rulers for not being able to estabilish a good diplomatic relationship with the neighbours. If Nepalese rulers were good, neighbours and international friends would not be uncooperative.

well I am not blaming India but I am blaming their intention to bring incompetent leadership in power.... and what will they gain after that?

well they were stationed in Kalapani but they were not moving in nepal slowly and capturing nepalese land and terrorizing nepalese villagers as they started doing in last 14 years..

if you agree democracy would be messy then why do you want that mess right now.. let us clear one mess we already have solve the maoist issue... then we will this about these messy politicians....

Peace First and utmost above all....

ehh hhe. Again you tried to modify my opinion in your own favour. democracy is not messy, democracy restored by international pressure is messy: this is what i meant. However, absolute monarchy is not a viable alternative to democracy. Obviously it takes many years for a clean democracy to put it's foothold.
Anyway, we understand the sitaution of Nepal in two different perspectives. Lets better end the argument now.

Interesting poll results, it seems like king has won the election for validity of his move. No matter how much the external world bark against it, nepalese know this move was the required move. Well for external world democracy may be important but for nepalese they know the pain they suffered through last 14 years " Achano ko chot khukurile jandaina" bhane jastain US and UK dont know what nepalese have went through.

I think most nepalese have realized that peace is the top most requirement of nepal....if it can bring peace we are ready to suspend our freedom for 3 years.

This poll should be answer to all those relatives of corrupt leaders who are staying aboard in corrupt money and come to sajha and bark about democracy and greatness of their leader....... they also should be punished along with their corrupt relatives and friends....

But I do respect all those user who believe in true democracy and are trying to fight for it truely... I mean not just to protect corrupt leaders.... for all these true democracy believer brother and sister I have only one appeal lets come together and fight maist terrorist first... let us give King a chance and let him win this war against maoist within 3 years as he promised.... after that we can have a better and prospour democracy in nepal....
