Ram Krishna lived in a village. He said he lived to sing, but of course, the truth was he sang to live. The villagers, who spent whole day collecting food in a nearby jungle, gave the lazy singer lagniappe as he crooned, often sad and tragic songs.

What a village it was! People were busy collecting foods, and they had no time to think. However they tried, they could collect the food sufficient for only one day! So, perpetually there were not enough foods to let people spend their time in anything other than food, to let people think and create a civilization. Everyday they collected food, and at the end of the day, of course there was a king who got a lion's share, and the rest went to the villagers.

Villagers said their life was a stable life. Theirs was a peaceful life. They loved the monotone of that life. Whenever civilized world peeked at the village, and told them what the heck they were doing, they asked the intruders not to butt in. "We love this servitude, this bondage, this eternal ignorance", they said, "It is suitable to our land, our air, our water. We don't want the freedom of chaos, and we don't want chaos of diverse thoughts.Freedom entails chaos, and it sucks."

Ram Krishna had similar thoughts also. Once the king asked him to sing a song for him. He went to the palace. His wife also went. His wife was a beautiful woman, even probably distantly related to the king. When they came back from the palace, the villagers saw Ram Krishna was a wounded, shocked and sad man.

They asked him what happened. Were you misbehaved? Your wife?

Ram Krishna was a wise man. He didn't want instability. The villagers were also shrewd men. They didn't want unwanted rumor.

"Wounded?Who, me? No." Ram Krishna said.
"Attacked, Who, my wife?, No." Ram Krishna said.

"Then who was wounded? You look like a wounded man." A visitor to the village asked.

"There is a dog, named Ram Krishna. It must be he and his wife." A wounded/shocked/sad Ram Krishna pointed in another direction. The visitor asked an old man about the incidence. The wise old villager observed, " as they say, naro wa kunjaro wa, ashwatthama hatohata! Ram Krishna was definitely wounded. His wife was definitely targetted. We just don't know if it was a singer Ram Krishna and his wife or a dog Ram Krishna and his bitch. But, basically we don't care. We want a stable village. No news. No communication. That makes us feel safe, good and stable. We want to believe that it was a dog and his bitch who were attacked."

Nice attempt, a little uncontrolled emotions while writing thoguh.
U missed the part where the King allows villagers to regain most of their earnings; however as the brothers started killing their own brothers, the cunning king ceases the opportunity.
In our context, 50% have given up hope and the rest are hoping something good comes out of this. Let's hope for the best.
Again, nice attempt.
