Everyone is concerned about the discriminations in our country. One of the major hindrance to any development is the existence of classes and the separation amongst the Nepali population. Somewhere along the line, someone in the Shah dynasty was a smart man. He declared himself a reincarnation of God to the uneducated and illiterate Nepali people. He subdivided the already poor and illiterate people into groups placing himself and his aides on top of the food chain. Very impressive practice of the divide and rule concept. We have been divided, and we know the reason why. Those people at the top of the food chain in Nepal are all related to the Royals. The next in line in the food chain are the ones catering to the royals. The whole distribution of wealth and power is centralized through the Royal family and thier relatives and the brown nosers. A King can be a good king if he takes care of the people. In Nepal the King is busy expanding his businesses. He's got Billions of dollars but still, he's busy making more money. Right now Nepal is facing a crisis, and he's got the potencial to do something about it. Will he do it? Will he prove that he can be a good king?

Interesting blog at the Nepali Blog Spot http://freenepal.blogspot.com/ Monday, March 28, 2005 King Increasing Personal Properties! King Gyanendra is a businessman. His major investment is in the Soaltee Group, one of the major business houses of the country running a few businesses. Though publicly his involvement in business is not seen, it's a well-accepted truth. I don't know how much the businesses are benefiting from his direct rule, but I can safely assume that they are probably doing the best business. This shows that King Gyanendra thrive for property. After the Royal Massacre, he became the lone heir of all the properties accumulated by the Shah Dynasty during their 300 years of reign. The latest information is about the properties once owned by the late King Birendra's family. There is a piece of land in the prime space at Sallaghari of Bhaktapur meant for the palace constuction of late Prince Nirajan. The land was in name of Nirajan but King Gyanendra is the owner of that land. The land was tranferred to the King's name 22 days after he took the executive power, according to an official who works in Land Revenue Office. Why in the King's name? Besides, late Princess Shruti owned a land at the prime space at Putali Sadak which was leased for 30 years to a businessman called Bahadur Singh Tamrakar. Tamrakar constructed a business plaza, called Kathmandu Plaza, there. The property should have been gone either to her husband or to her two little daughters, but it went to the present King's daughter - Prerana. Is that good? Besides people are also talking that other properties, shares and bonds held by members of late King Birendra's family are transferred to present King's family members. He is in power, there is no one to oppose, press are kept quiet - so he can do whatsoever he likes, but time will come when all these misdoings will be dug out - and he has to face the people then. (Although these information come from reliable sources, they have not been cross verified.) posted by Kathmandu at 3/28/2005 10:16:00 AM 2 comments

Yes, they all belong to our Majesty the King Gynendra Bir Bikram Shahdev. Pity those demonstrators in DC and NY did not carry a playcard or two glorifying the list of properties belonging to the King and the immediate family to show the world how much we care about our royals. The PAO, or the plan of action, for the next demo is to find out all those properties ASAP. "Hamro Raja Hamro Desh Praan Bhanda Pyaro Cha" "Idols?" They are nothing compared to our life, and ,hell, we make sure our country is second in line to our king when they both need to be considered at the same time. Jaya Naresh Jaya Desh!

Yes, it is true that Nepal built on a foundation of discrimination and racism in historical, social, cultural, religion, education, employment and humanitarian. But if your grand dad was corrupt, criminal, thief and racists, you do not need those bloody behavior and action or things to follow. Unless you have those corrupt genes in your blood. We have to be a different than Oldies and make a difference to Nepal and Nepalese. But it is not happening in Nepal. That is not good sign for future of Nepal and become very serious problem in Nepal.

All Countries hushpuppy? In which other country does the ruler call himself a god and brainwashes all the children through textbooks to worship him like a God? The reality is that the royals have built up such a huge ego that they believe they are greater and superior beings than other general people. They have widened the gap between the rich and the poor so much that top 2% of these royals and their people are in control of 95% of the country's money. In today's 21st century the age of cloning, the royals have done an excellent job of keeping social segregation at the maximum. While they enjoy million dollar cars, even things of basic necessity such as water and electricity have not reached millions of households in remote Nepal.

Newuser, there is no U-turn. In spite of the reality that i've written, I still believe that King G is the best option there is for Nepal right now. For lack of any hope from the Maoists, or any other political parties. The only way to stop the mayhem is for King G to be in control. Don't ask me what's next.

Yes, I agree 100% that Nepal a country built on a foundation of deep serious DISCRIMINATION as well as RACISM, too. Beside that heavy CORRUPTION and CRIMES control Nepal. That is the reason, Democracy of Nepal failed... Nepalese villages are still as same as 19th centuries...... Failed international donation, developement projects and collapse nepal......

Hush Hush Puppy, Since when did expressing ones opinion become whining. I'm not whining about anything. I'm not saying I'm about to bring a change or do anything about it. In simple terms, I'm saying that in politics you have to choose lesser of the evil. What part did you not understand.
