Britain, the mother of so many children, reaches her old age and looks back at some of the fruit of her loins...
CANADA - The kid every parent wants to have and the one that makes his parents most proud. Straight 'A' pupil, popular, everyone likes him. Decent, thoughtful, caring, intelligent, has respect for self and others. Has grown up and made a great quality life for himself.
AUSTRALIA - The 'kooky' kid with a heart of gold who started off on the wrong side of the tracks but made good in the end. Began life as a criminal but has left his old ways behind and become a credit to the family - the scrappy little kid who's hard working and hard playing, and whose achievements way outstrip his parent's expectations.
INDIA - Adopted child who took time to settle in, but grew to become as much loved as the others. Made his parents proud by showing a surprise talent for computers and continues to impress friends and neighbours with knowledge of modern technology which has allowed him to make a good living for himself whilst retaining a reputation for being polite and well mannered.
USA - Oh dear. There is always one black sheep of the family. The one that people don't talk about. Was a troublesome child, getting into trouble with bullying as a teenager, has grown up to be rude, obnoxious, with a nasty streak that makes him disliked by almost everyone that comes in contact with him. Is a pathological liar and a clinical history and reality revising fantasist. Is prone to delusions of grandeur on a grand scale. Won the lottery early on and has made a living throwing the money around, attracting fair weather amigos and hangers-on but has no true friends and like all such individuals has a deep seated inferiority complex built on the knowledge that he never really fits in anywhere and is tolerated only for his money. Has repeatedly made his parents ashamed of his actions despite repeated talkings to and is destined for a nasty end, leaving his parents dreading the day they get the call he is found broke and destitute, dead in the gutter.
