credit problems, work problems, risks and returns, housing, business - basic ideas...

here's notes to learn more about global business or ponder about:

***The euro continued on an accelerated downward slide, dropping more than 1% to below $1.24. Gold dropped close to $413 per ounce, while oil barely blipped, still uncomfortably close to the $50 mark. Details follow?

***The French ?no? vote on the European constitution was, in a sense, a vote against Capitalism? reviled and discredited among Europeans as ?liberalism.?

P.S. Warning to All American Homeowners:

July 22, 2005... the day that will financially paralyze 72 million American homeowners (and that could make you an astounding $212,500 in 8 months).

and now for the thought of the day:

?Whatever their motives, this was a vote to keep tight hold of nurse for fear of finding something worse. It was the politics of Peter Pan, of not wanting to grow up.?

Martin Kettle, May 31, 2005

p.s. reading with ya'll my daily dispatch does anything ring a bell??

1. "The euro continued on an accelerated downward slide, dropping more than 1% to below $1.24."
the more interesting comparison shuld be between teh yuan and the euro. methinks that the european central bank is deliberately pursuign a low euro policy vis a vis the chinese currency in order to have a favorable balance of trade with the chinese. some shit is going to hit the fan when the chinese reconsider their yuan policy, (this is inevitable, but prolly not because of the clamoring american protectionists)

2.
no-one really cares what these snobbish frogs think anyway.

3.
Is the fed set to announce an interest rate hike in 3 weeks? dunno

4.
