thanks for the info guys.

Another question: I know that there are a few hundreds of Nepalese in that university. How easy is it to get a on/off campus job there? How do Nepalese students usually afford to pay the ~4000+ tuition fee every semester if their family in Nepal can not support them after the first few semesters ? What are job opportunities there like?

you get 3 months break during summer......during which most nepalis go down to Ocean City and work like crazy for 3 months and earn tuition for the next two semesters!!!
you can probably do the same....or you can ask for your family to just pay the difference you werent able to earn.....most of the students are able to manage without asking their families....

In-campus jobs are available for early comers.....out-of campus jobs - the same.... most nepalese manage to grab one or the other. Although be careful not to mention out-of campus job to your college advisors, as legally you are not allowed to work out of campus. bring a windproof-waterproof jacket. I brought a blanket with me too frm nepal ... other than that....bring lots of love from your mom n dad...as you wont be able to get much of that over here!!!! :)

About bus service from Minneapolis to Marshall... in many colleges, the International students organisation organises pick-ups for new-comers. Ask your international advisor if there is any pick-up service available .... sometimes they might do it for a minimal fee.

Feel free to ask me any questions or suggestions...mail me at: shrestha@gmail.com

I like the suggestion of contacting iso representative to see if there is any pick-up facility for new comers. ISO (International Student Organization) is good at that -- contact them. This will save you some bucks.

Enjoy Marshall!

Actually I am missing snow!!!

If you are landing during week-end, here we are quite bunch of people in Minneapolis-Twin Cities, hai. If you need a night shelter, just drop a line.

Last I have heard of J&J Appartments -- everybody ran away from the place. There was inspection of some sort.
