Just a quick drop in sajha for now ;).
I guess this has an impact to all the self-righteous self interest players vis-a-vis india and to some extent other external forces. How significant would this incident be, in the view of India and their western allies? This could be the boon for Gyanendra. What do you gusy think?

First joint Maoist attack in India, 21 killed: the Hindu

KOL Report

KATHMANDU, June 24 - At least 21 people were killed in the first coordinated attack involving both Nepali and Indian Maoists in Madhuban village in the Indian state of Bihar overnight, the Hindu reported Friday.
The gun fighting erupted after hundreds of Maoists attacked the police station and two state-run banks in the village near Nepal-India border on Thursday night, the daily reported, quoting Director General of Police Ashish Ranjan Sinha, the state police chief. About 100 Maoists from Nepal were also involved in the attack, according to the Indian police.

Seventeen Maoists, two police officers, one paramilitary soldier and a security guard were killed in the all-night gun battle that ended early Friday morning, Indian police said.

"The participation of Nepalese Maoists has been proved. This is the first time they were involved,? Sinha said.

The gunfight began after police reinforcements opened fire on the Maoists as they tried to flee to Nepal, added reports. (dds)

This could also mean that India could now have grounds to intervene into Nepal's internal conflict, militarily I mean.

Link reads:" Maoist do a Nepal in India."

It's now a Maoist jihad that makes India stunned

PATNA: The Centre has ordered a high-level probe after a large number of Maoist guerrillas ran amok in a Bihar district bordering Nepal reportedly killing up to 21 people.

The central home ministry asked the Bihar administration how the Maoists, apparently in hundreds, launched a massive onslaught in East Champaran district on Thursday afternoon, virtually taking over the Madhuban block for hours.

The attackers included several woman rebels dressed in military fatigues.

While a senior police officer put the death toll at around 15, other reports from the economically backward region spoke of at least 21 fatalities.

The attackers were from the Communist Party of India-Maoist (CPI-Maoist), which has close links with Maoist guerrillas in neighbouring Nepal.

This is the first time Indian Maoists ganged up in such numbers to stage a daring attack on government institutions, banks and the local treasury anywhere in the country since the Maoist movement broke out in 1967. Such attacks are common in Nepal.

"The police are busy preparing a detailed report on the attack for the home ministry," a state home department told IANS.

Police officials could not explain how Maoist rebels entered the area in hundreds without setting off a major alert and had a free run.

"It is a matter of serious concern how the police were in the dark," one officer said.

Bihar police chief Ashish Ranjan Sinha said the police had killed over a dozen rebels and recovered the bodies of seven.

Apparently, over 300 Maoist guerrillas, including dozens of women in olive green military uniform, Thursday afternoon attacked the Madhuban bazaar, opened fire to create panic and set fire to the police station and block office, killing two policemen and a bank guard.

They also looted cash from a bank and attacked a petrol pump owned by Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) MP from Sheohar, Sitaram Singh.

The rebels exploded bombs, looted four rifles and ransacked the local branch of State Bank of India, Central Bank and local treasury as a part of their daredevil operation.

The guerrillas also bombed the house of Sitaram Singh and his neighbour and looted cash and jewellery.

"The Maoists did the looting for over 90 minutes without any police action," a district official said.

One source close to the RJD leader said Nepalese Maoists were also involved in the attack.

Will they understand our pain better? They can not ignore this. When you try to make a pet ou of Bhusiya kukurs; you run risk to get bitten. Let this be a lesson to India on what Maoist TRUELY have BECOME.

I expect some policy shift in light of this incident from India. What do you guys think? They do not want another ISI-esque operatives fighting another jihad in Bihar and Patna first, and then the whole nation.

Either killing these stray dogs or caging them is the only option, unless some divine intervention would invent some magical vacacine with mage's recipe, these inhuman dogs are gonna bite all and sundry. The imeretive situation in this "Rawandain" circumstances calls for unity among ALL and ANY sane mind to tackle these barbarians first and THEN move with others impending conflicts.

Mero 2 mahina ko talab.

Excellent point hurray. That is a possibility.

It appears that Nepal runs a risk on anything that happens or do not happen.
Assman se gira aur khanjaar pe gira ho ki ke bhancha ni. Tyastai.

But this event is significant in more ways than one.

Yeah as Hurray mentioned, adding to that, majority Indians will find one more reason to mistreat and be suspicious to Nepalese in India.

I am not quite sure what is going on inside Maoists camp.
Baburam goes meets with Indian Communist leaders who are in mainstream politics and his own army attacks the Indians. This would be disasterous to Nepal.
India now might want Maoists to come in power in Nepal, so that it could intervene directly in Nepal's politics, almost declaring war againts Nepal, to defeat the Maoist government. Just like what US is doing in Iraq.

Anyway, whatever happens, god save Nepal.

Royal family is manuplating some of maoists or their hanuman to indian border to terrorize there. so they can get support from not only india but also UK, america and European union to run Royal Government . Now they just wanna show Mao are serious problem not only for nepal but also for india. This is the same technicque which was used to Kill Narayan Pandit using Maoist, but he was killed by Bharat Samser. Coz he was a competetor for Bishwa Hindu Parisad with Bharat and Pandit was very famous among nepali. Here is politics from Royal palace no more than that,.

I hope the normal regular poor Nepalese who crossed border in search of their livelihood would not be mistreated in India by the authorities and population alike. These morons did not let the live in their country and now they are creating hassel for those poor ones there as well.

Jai Nepal.
