"A friend will be always THERE for you whenever you need them." That?s what I have heard, at least heard. But does a real friend occur? Is He or she somewhere there, I have always wondered. I'm not telling a fact that I am a "Perfect friend". Considering my own experiences, I have concluded actually a F-I-E-N-D doesn't exist anymore, not at least in this 21st century world, where everybody is busy, just damn busy?
I used to hang out with a friend called Shesh when I was in Ukg. It?s him that I remember as a first friend. We used to hang out together while returning from school. My parents were busy with their works, and maybe his parents were too, so we used to return home from school together, and he would bring all sorts of toys to school. Maybe that was one of reason why I loved hanging out with him. With limited (or none) toys I had I always loved the toys he used to show me, that toy guns, that mechanical car, that helicopter (I used to think of being a Pilot seeing those helicopters, and yes with age my ambition changed)?Ah I simply loved being with him. With time, I have to move on, My mom was not satisfied with the school I was in So she transferred me to the school near my
mamaghar, and I lost touch with Shesh, and I didn?t missed him a bit, well I cared less, I was out to make new friend, and maybe he moved on too. I don?t know where the hell he is and a sure it?s vice versa. I sure wish He is at the best though.
Then at the school near
mamaghar, I didn?t made that rememberable friend, I don?t know exact reasons, but maybe I was too busy with myself. Yeah but with the time, I missed all the toys I had seen with Shesh, and with time I wanted to get them even more. I stole from my grandma?s and my
maiju?s purse to get myself some toys. Of course I was busy with playing with them, so I forgot to make friends, and there was lot to do to hide those toys from my granny?s and
maiju?s eyes, otherwise I would be under investigation and get busted up. Now as crime couldn?t be forever forbidden, my mom found about the forbidden crime. I must have been precious by now for her, so she transferred me to the Vanasthali and now I can live with my parents again. It was at Vanasthali, where I would spent my wonder years of friendship.
I remember lots of name of friends from Vanasthali? Well then, I am listing them out:
Mandur(my first friend), Sujan ( maybe he was second, he was black and huge), Ram and Shyam(the twins), Dhiraj, Pramodh, Prem (he used to be kinda dada), Manoj (also a dada kind), Anish (he had thick specs), Umesh(He also had thick specs), Mahesh, Mukesh, Mohan (T3), Abhishek, Shree, Sarju, Nabin(tapari),Niroj, Sushmita (She was topper in our ISc class, and I had crush on her), Wanita (Anish had crush on her on ISc years) Siddhartha and above them all I had a best of friends and He was Pipak (Pee)?
Well I now don?t know where most of them are and probably they don?t know about me too I think. I lost the track of them and they lost mine, there are lots of NEW things to worry about than those OLD friends, foolish!!! I have been in contact of 3 or 4 friends (not regularly though), and I had met 4 or 5 of them once again in the course of time after leaving the school, and that time we would exclaim,
Oye yaar!!! K chha!!! have nice little chitchats about how things are going, and about the good old times we had, whereabouts of old friends and would exchange the visiting cards too and promise to keep in touch and then next day we would either loose that visiting card or forget them. Through those little meetings I had find out some of my friends have become doctor, some are in Australia, UK or some in USA trying their lucks out, and some are doing big time business, some are working as junior executives and one of them even a trekking guide (my dream job these days). Yeah all of them are in good places I think.
Of them I only miss Pee, may be of all the good times I had with friends at school, with Pee was best of all (Please refer my ?Love Unspoken?, the story at
Sajha?s Writer Guild for detail of good times we had [although it is not complete there, San dai uploaded that cutting the later half]).
Well then, I have to move on and was into my grad years, well here too I can remember too many names, But lets not bore you with all those names, and the condition here is also the same as with school friends, yeah with niche of the technologies these days, we get to see online many of our friends in messangers, but most of time we ignore each other because we won?t have anything to talk about, or sometimes even if we have something to talk, one of us will be busy (there is too much works). Well the life just carries on. And here I met three of friends whom I won?t take names, because I don?t want to make fuss and frills of them as I am still friend with them and I don?t want to loose their friendship, at least now.
One is a good friend whom I share lots of things about my love life, another is a girl whom I felt hopelessly in L-O-V-E with and she couldn?t feel the thing called L-O-V-E with me, but we became best of friends (I know inside out of her and vice versa), and believe me in course of these six years I have proposed her thrice (Of course all three times she kindly refused, It was so kind of her that we still are friends). Well but funny thing about this is she feels that I am the best friend she has ever had (even now she feels the same), but for me, I feel I cheated on her friendship because I always wanted my love back, friendship should be without expectations?ain?t it?? Well then there is third friend whom I spend most of time with, We don?t share our emotions in talking but we sure would know without word what is on each other?s mind most of time. And I sure love hanging out with him.
Now talking about these three friends, I am with contact with first friend whenever one of us is in trouble. With the girl I was in love with, I have somehow got over the foolish L-O-V-E, and maybe in course of time lots of other things too. Things change, Maybe it?s the time and environment too that changes, but with time She is somewhere else, I somewhere and We are both too busy with our daily routines I think. Sometimes (once in blue moon) we would have talk till mid nights and talk about old times and all, but we won?t talk about our new times as there would be lots to keep track of. We won?t even exchange a letter for 2 months or more. Well here too I think the life carries on. Now with the third friend I spend most of time these days. I have just left my last job and if my visa gets approved I maybe going abroad, and with all the free times I have I spend most of time with him. He has himself established his own office and has his own office hours, I help out with his office works too and its fun for us both to spent all times together. But with course of time if I go abroad, I think I will loose track of him too and He would be one of the older friends I had, just an archive.
Well now enough with telling the stories I had, I would conclude what I feel now, I don?t feel as there is something called Forever friends, all that lies here are the characters which we meet down the road, and loose track of while traveling along the road of life, and all that remains is the beautiful memories of good times we had. Well that?s what a friend is all about, living the good times u had, sharing if you want, and making good memories, and maybe we all will meet again in heaven, up there somewhere. (I don?t know where we go after we die, But I m sure we will be meeting up somewhere, where we will share life stories)
