I want to fast during TEEZ. I have never done it before. I heard about it but have not seen anybody fasting either. So if anybody knows about it, please help me out. One more thing, when is TEEZ? Is it on Sept 6th?

If it is on Sep 6th Than you will have to do the dar khane which is a midnight meal on 5th, just before 6th starts. Usually dar khane tradition is done at borthers or parents place. So on 6th you are not supposed to eat anything I think you cannot even drink water until next day.

I was home last year during teez and I saw women went to the near by temple including my mom with all their gahanas and bright red sarees and dance and had so much fun on fasting day.

I have never took teez fasting eaither but I have mentioned above whatever i saw last year at home.

Have a great TEEZ!!!!!!!!!!!

All I know is that you have to fast for someone you love. He can be either your future husband or bf or if you dont have anybody, I can let you use me for free...

Ohhhh so many prying eyes

sis, as far as i know, there are various customs throughout nepal and india. in india, they call it "karwa chauth". she fasts the whole day and at the evening looks at the moon, then the first person she looks is her man--typical of so many hindi movies.

in nepal, in my area, the married ones go to their "maaiti" while the unmarried ones either remain at their own home or go to their "maawali"

so if you find nowhere to go, you can come to mine considering "maaiti" or "maawali", whichever applicable. We will then look at the sajha postings and consider the best "jwaai" -- if applicable.

Keep rolling...
