Hello there Dannah, I am not sure about your sex; male/female.

I hate to admit this but I don't really have the site for GC or Singapore photos. May be I will consolodiate all the photos I have and dump it somwhere for you and many others to see.

I am now at Newcastle. Currently, there are 6 of us from GC. What about you, where are you and what is the number of our ex-GCian at the place where you are currently residing ?

Regards,

I nepali,

Good pictures. Thanks for sharing. A few of my cousins were born and bred there - one recently got married to a GC walla.

So you two are bhanjas eh.. Might visit the place when I am in the Far East next. Been to the eastern part of Malaysia though - Sarawak, Kuching, Miri etc, but never to S'pore. Was in KK some years back - climbed the Kinabalu mountain with a fiesty bunch of trekkers from KL. Stayed the night at one of those cosy chalets half way over, overlooking the massive expanse of the tropical rainforest immediately down below, before setting off at 3AM the following morning for the final climb towards Lowes Peak. It was a very chilly X-mas morning and the dawn was slowing breaking when we finally reached the top. The scenery was awesome with the morning sun and its glow spread over the silhouetted edge of the Sarawak landmass and the ocean far into the distance. Wonderful. All that effort of waking up in the wee hours had not gone unrewarded after all. Forget the company of the pretty ladies in my group! Some fond memories. Oh, well.

Hope the mausam up north has not been too bad. It's okay where I am (Surrey) - the day has been a little drizzly but not so chilly.

Carpe diem

Thanks for sharing. I had good time when i was on malaysia. Singapore is really nice but the transportation is expensive compare to malaysia. I prefer malaysia than singapore for travel. I like in malaysia few places 1.Genting Highland 2.Pulau Langkawi 3.Georgetown, Pulau Peneng 4. Sarawa 5. Sabah 6. Sri Mahamariaman Temple (Batucave KL) 7.Melaka 8. Pangkor Islands .

I Nepali,

Thanks for replying to my post and also thanks for the two additional pics - sent me on a trip down the memory lane.

The first one is the Laban Rata resting house and restaurant. We stayed in one of the chalets next to the main building. Amazing setting. I remember, there was a roaring stream immediately to the right, which forced itself out of steep solid rock crevasses, making a final descent in dancing long swirls towards the bottom. Spectacular. Also spectacular was the sight viewed from the Lows Gully - its dizzyingly deep gash down below separating the jagged pinnacles in the east from the rest of the western range, Lows Peak included.

The weather held superbly for us, which made the climbing experience all the more interesting. An amazing array of plants, orchids and what not. The bushy shrubs and rhododendrons reminded me so much of my trips I had taken in my teen years from my home village in the east to all those 'sunrise' spots along the Ilam/Darjeeling border. It appears from your pic, it was a wet day when you lot got there. It would have been an edifying experience for you and your colleague.

Okay, I might recite one of favourite lines from Wordsworth below; the latter recounts his experience having climbed Mount Snowdon. It goes something like this:

The moon stood naked in the heavens,
Immense above my head and on the shore,
? a huge sea of mist which meek and silent
Rested at my feet.

So all that wrath of rain, fog and ?mist? was worth the effort after all.

Carpe Diem

Dannah,

Thanks for your post. Yeah, stuck in surrey, near Hampshire - the Jane Austen country!
Me playing football?? You have got to be joking (or is that kidding?). I mean, I can't even remember when I last bought and put on the gear - forget the playing part. Do enjoy it on the telly though now and again.

Anyway, maybe I know the 'Topahs' that you mention in your post. I know quite a few of GCians from my time in the Far East. One is now enjoying the sunny climes of Brunei -he's one of my best mates.

Yeah, went to Kinabalu - had a little brush of ILU-ILU with one of the 'perempuans' from Kualalumpur (can't spell the name). Okay, spilled the beans there eh... didn't let it go too far though - very dangerous. Smooching?? Yeah, why not - what's wrong with having a wee bit of that! Innit. And besides, I's single and unattached then - a roving rover, free from all the shackles of relationships. Sadly, I'm now left with no such excuses. Oh, well. But yes, some really fond memories.

Okay, I'd better get back to what I was doing. Surfing Sajha has become very addictive lately and this is just not on.

Carpe diem.

Sandhurst Lahure...if im to assume u were once a lahurey(doesnt matter if u aint now ;oP hehe)..

anyways since u posted and said thanks for the post..which u didnt need to..(but nice of u to :oD) so just returning it :oD..(plus im in procrastinating mood ;oP hehe)...and well was nice to read ur post..:oD...u brought out some nostalgic moments there hehe..

perempuan cantik thio ;o) hehe...seems like u did stay in the SE Asia region for quite a while..nice place aint it?hehe well if the place aint..the culture and the food def is :oD...and if ur single and unattached nothing wrong ;oP...and then re?so can i assume u aint single anymore?oh well im sure ur having quite a time of ur life single or not ;o)..tho i cant imagine meself in ur place(when singlehood is gone ;oP) :O hehe..

and no idea how many Surrey there are in England..i assumed there was one..since that topah was from there and didnt mention there was more ;oP...and Jane Austen i know not..(most prob a writer hehe)...but thanks for lettn me know..knowledge is power ;o) hehe..and well just will ask that topah if he knew Jane Austen was from the place he used to stay and study....and lets see wat he says..most prob his reply will be smthing liks this :oS..." who Jane?who cares?as tho i care..blah blah blah" :oS ;oP hehe

and when it comes to football!!!i dun kid!!!hehe..well i like to think i dun kid in that ;oP...well i cant imagine meself not kickn balls how old i become :O..look at those bobby charton(im not man utd fan!!but of cos u cant deny them the good players hehe)and other budas..they still can play football and most prob kick our arse :O..tho i like to think and believe with me agility(yeah right more like agility of a snail ;oP )...me fitness (yeah right..if only i was fast as a pig..tho i got fats like them ;oP hehe how can those pigs run so fast with so much boso!!!HOW!!!Someone tell me!!teach me!!!;oP hehe)..and u know more of me blah blah blah..i think me and me frens could give those bobby and his buda buddies a good competetion in the field..but who am i kiddin?most prob i have to depend on me mates to be a bit more fittier and faster than me hehe...

and since ur there..im sure u always do get to watch it more often than not..wish i could say the same here :oS...anyways do u favour any teams?mines Liverpool :oD..and im biased ..so..thats that ;oP....

and now not sure if u do know that topah fren of mine :oD...met anyone from GC there?if u did..most prob u know him :oD and if ur mate in burnei..well if he an ex GCian..well nice to know they are around eveywhere :oD...

and yap i better go back to doing wat i need to do...and one thing...i realised(used to be quite a regular here..now pretty in control and am scared of losing control again ;oP..wat scares me can only make me better hoina?;oP hehe)...from me experience realised ..once u end up replyn..and 'conversing' ..u start gettn addicted..so for ur sake and me sake...dun reply..:oD...and i too shant reply..not today anyways ;oP hehe..

(me will wait for I_nepali to post pics :oD...)

good day :oD
