It has been days since I have seen some meaningful dialogues and discussions around Sajha...I do get lots of entertainment from tons of jokes posted around here...But I just don't come here to read the jokes only and talk about bands...I come here to see insights, to hear and see about my country withindifferent voices and above all to rise up my horizon...But there are loads of topics and people missing around here who had created a charm in sajha for me....and the horizon seems to diminishing for me at least...Maybe the politics thread are sorted out for good of others, but for me thats just like what they censored at Nepal during the SANKATKAAL....the Sajha is more like becoming a tabloid at its best...If being tabloid suits sajha, then maybe that doesn't suits my taste...It is either becoming a noon nabhyeko tarkari....Yestai nai ho bhane Sajha ra Gorkhapatra ma k bhinnata bho ra....Critiques haaru ta jammai thaam ma hunchha ni tara bho bhandai ma censor launu bhyena ni...Everybody should get equal chances, even the minorities...Neglecting minorities created problems such as Maoist in our country, yestai chala ho bhane Sajha ma pani Maobadi aauna k beer....Ho ki haina ???
Well aabo yestai kura matra k garnu, yo politics kunakapchha gayechhi ta dherai manchhe harauna ni thale ho Sajha baata....yinihaarulai dhara 127 lagayera gaayab pareka ta hoinan katai??? Well ho bhane ta manab aadhikaar hanan bho bhanera Rastriya manabadhikaar aayog januparyo yaar...:P...:P
La hai gaayeb manchhehaaruko list:
1. Matrix ko Fug Sir(Batroom dai ke...:P)
2. Anil J. Shahi ( Khoi Punte dai dekhinchhan kahilekahin...Bhumigat bha ho ki k ho ganthee)
3.Anti g (Kata gayeko ho kunni??...:S)
4. Ashu (Katai Harvard nai ta puugena...:P)
5. Nepe (Julus baata nai samatera laage ki???...:S)
6.Highfly(Kata uudera gaayechha kunni)

8. Indi(Bharpardo shroot anusaar yini ansaan basera birami parya chhan re...la chandai niko hunu hai saathi...GET WELL SOON...:P)

kick,

Thanks. Yes, new kid on the block. And new in its literal sense. A lot of catching up to do though before I can learn to 'walk' in this site - so long way to go yet before so you lot can have me in tow!

I need to shoot off for the day. Have a good day.

Carpe diem

I am simply not disagring with Nirman, Matrixrose or the rest of you guys, but as matrixrose pointed out quality is important, I just want to say... in variety can we find quality, for eg: where do fishermen want to go to have maximum yield of fish lake or sea? Definitely to the sea ,right?

So we can look at the better side, that is we have a variety n just waiting for the quality to emerge. Ofcourse we dont have choice than to find some more quality in the best possible way, when we cant expect anything from our so called quality that we had before.

The emergence of a new section of politics should not have deterred the political writers from writing unless they are more interested in the fact that they get the front page spotlight rather than being actually interested in discussing. I don't think there has been any new censorships tagged here in sajha besides the creation of a new link dedicated to politics.

For a change it is nice to not have to see the ko bhanda ko kam attitude especially postings like Kill so and so, jindabad, murdabad, faasi dey, etc. More than political writings per se, these were the types of postings that were bringing the standard of the site down.

Let's hope that this will lead to more cleaner and productive discussions about politics.

I think I have written something in the past opposing the separation of political threads or atleast to include politics in the default homepage. So, I am not going to elaborate and repeat the same things.
On a different note,

I ignore bashings, but can not do that to compliments, particularly to a sweet compliment like one from Sandhurst Lahure-jee.

Thank you, Lahure-jee. Your kind words will go a long way to make me more alert about my reader's expectations and my need of being/remaining a responsible poster.

In fact, 'responsibility' is the only thing I can vouch for. 'Quality' is not.

I feel responsible to every word I type. I never post things I am not sure I am willing to take responsibility. The proof is in the fact that I have registered only one username since I ever registered my nick in Sajha.

I know life is terrible with only one account, however this is my tapasya and I am never going to betray it.

*** *** ***

I have tremendous respect to Sajha and just about any discussion forum for the reason many would hate them for. That is, brutal, merciless and uninhibited criticism to things that are holiest of the holiests to the most condemnable.

We are not yet used to it, however, anonymous discussion forums are gold tests for any view and opinions. Sometimes merits get shadowed by the intensity of criticism, however no flaws and weakness in a given view have a chance to pass through- through sharp eyes and tongues of merciless forum users.

In fact, this is the reason, most "established" writers and thinkers avoid discussion forums. And, to be brutally frank, more than often, their mediocre works pass without getting the criticism they deserve.

I have learned so much (about the weakness and strength of my thought/views) from the vicious debates in Sajha, I don't think I would have learned one hundredth of that, had I been a op-ed writer in some mainstream media.

The brutality in Sajha is worth tolerating if life is about being tested.

Hey Nirman thanks for remembering. Isn't it true that people demanding civil rights in Nepal are made 'gayab' from Julush already? Thankfully its not the case for me. I am fairly frequent in sajha. May be I am a bit more busy and lazy these days, also my political enthusiasm has plumetted because of the dumb response of Parties on civil society's expectations. And to be frank, the reshuffle in the Kurakani page has also added to my disappointment.

ANyways, some of you have tried to revive the old flavour and hopefully your efforts will click the sajha spirit soon. Cheers.

People who are disappointed with the separation of politics should answer this question.

Are you more interested in your views being on the front page of sajha, or are you more interested in having an uncensored (to a limit??) place for political discussions?

>> Are you more interested in your views being on the front page of sajha, or are you more interested in having an uncensored (to a limit??) place for political discussions?
--To answer ur simple question, its not that we want our views being on the front page as if we want to be media frenzy as the netas these days...Its about the participation in the discussion forum...If it is on the front page, there will be more particiapation and brainstorming and hence more ideas generating, But as a nature of human being, if u have to search for it, the participation will be low, and almost dissapearing like last few days...(or week)...and if political discussions arenot to be allowed on front page...then, this site would be as a teen site or something similar...
I like the stories and poems posted here most of the time, and yeah there are great writers here Sitara, Nepe, John_Galt, Nepalian, Shree 5, dada, Bhaute, Badarnikt, and tons of others to name few....and I love those jokes posted around here...Tara Sajha means a broader vison ni hoina ra????
So lets accept that this is discussion forum for all and for sake of critiques lets not change the face of Sajha....

""On a different note, मेरो जानकारी अनुसार Nirman र sense अहिले एउटै देशमा छन्।""
Nirman...do u have anything to say???

I agree on what people have said on keeping politics apart from the main page of sajha, ...reasoning can lead us to agree that both of the views are correct and I am sure I go for the other option.

Its strange thats occuring in sajha everytime u put a poll there its always people divided in half..to my knowledge I have never seen results as 60-40 or more ....what does this reflect when we look at the mentality of the users

1) just a coincidence
2) People dont have their own choice
3) people consider the loosing choice
4)They always want to be in opposition(even if they think the other is correct)

I've tried to figure out this for so many times...but my mind is way out of analysing these facts.

can u help guys?

Alik nun thap diu ki bhanera ni. Hehe ;)

I presume Sajha, like everything else in life, has to go with its ups and downs. That said, perhaps what may be dreary for us, might as well be fascinating for others. But I do concur with Nirman though - more or less.

And Nirman, thanks for your wishes. It was not fun to be down and 'almost' out, so to speak. In the mean time, might I as well, thank those few discreet sajhaities in kurakani and faster version of kurakani, who wished me speedy recovery.

Talk about being fortunate enough to have someone actually asking you how you are doing. It was nice. Thanks!

My vigor reinstated, my enthusiasm reestablished, rest assured, I see myself participating yet again with my usual crap.

Like Robertio Benigni famously said it with a wide smile in an extremely drolly fascinating and heart wrenching/warming movie - Life is Beautiful, let me as well start my new innings in Sajha after a brief hiatus with "Bonjour Sajhaities," a la "Bonjour principessa."

After a brief night out last night, follwed by a well brewed coffee this morning -

A tranquil,
IndisGuise:)

Hya ta baithakii nai baseko recha.

First of all, I don't have any idea bout wat's going on in sajha. I try to be here every day, and I c new posts, which is no more than a bullshit. I read couple of'em which I feel would, could or should be good, reply them and leave. There was a day, when I could stick to sajha for the whole day and reply and read every post and every word.
I think people who r posting should be more responsible for what they are posting, I came across one of the posting which could not be acceptable as a posting of any kind, it can't be a thought, neither humor and thinkin process is miles away from that posting.

I was busy for some time and could not browse sajha very often, and after some time when I came in here, I was lost in a different world.

A very cordial requet to san dai ; San dai do something bout this site. Don't let people make fun of it. We, will definately help you, but you have to do something to make it more like old sajha. I personally learned a lot while in sajha, but at the present there is very few things to learn. As someone already mentioned. I don't care if someone is followed by a gay, or someone had a baby or with someone's personal life. Its not only me but I believe most of us. would like some good discussion and some fun and humor.

K bhannu aru, try to keep it clean
and I believe all of us will sure help you to maintain sajha's image as a open public forum for great discussion and exchange of thoughts.

Well I do think "Kurakani" still got it's charm...I do get opportunities to go through some innovative articles...Bravo to all those writers who always come up with interesting stories of their own..Indi, John, Sitara, Lahure, Harkedai (these are just few) should come up with such brilliance every now and then....and people like me will always have soemthing to read about and get inspired.Everyone's doing a great effort here..:d

Nepe jee,
I have been slightly remiss about this post but better late than never! Thank you for taking time to reply, and also for sharing with us your thoughts on an issue that has attracted lively debates in a few other Sajha threads now and then: the issue of propriety in a public place such as Sajha. The last post was all about the two readily visible stock characters of Sajha that I have been familiar with over the last couple of months ? you, being one of them obviously ? and my little musing over what appeared to be a long self-imposed exile from the Sajha land on your part and also on how religiously you?ve weathered, to quote your own term, ?the brutality? of being an established figure, within Sajha?s context at least. The vagaries of being famous, I would say! Delighted to know that all this acted as a prompt for you to break the spell and return to the Nepe self, as it were!

I fully support and second your opinion on what can generally be accepted as a standard, set against some defined parameters as far as one?s behaviour goes. And yes, the idea of ?responsibility? that you passionately vouch for, among other things, is one and perhaps the most vital part of a relationship that exists between those who enjoy a public standing and those without whose support and trust the former will be unable to hang onto their status. A give-and-take scenario, and this is perhaps generalising the whole issue somewhat but the principle should apply all the same, whether in public life or private. Well, that?s how I see it anyway. So, going back again to the issue of propriety; my deduction is thus: if I don?t behave in a way I should, then I might as well end up losing the trust of those whose opinions of me I value most and matter for all sorts of reasons. All very pertinent to Sajha?s established contributors and general visitors alike. But then those of us with genuine and good intentions at heart do it almost instinctively without anyone?s telling us how. That is civility rather than any thing else - the basic form of civility, the basic standard to observe and live by. Put simply, it?s all common sense but then there are those of us who lack it for all sorts of reasons too and end up behaving very badly. You have observed this first hand in these very Sajha forums as I have on a number of occasions, how pathetically low people can get to prove a point. You have been a victim yourself, and I am sure, you don?t need me to remind you of this. Gone off tangent a little. So, in a nutshell, yes, you feel responsible for everything you say and write in these forums, and those of us who read your posts with interest have all the reasons to believe that this is indeed the case and that you?ll continue to be a Sajha contributor/writer as actively and lively as you have always been.

I think, this post is becoming an awfully long one. I have got to go ? had more comments on your take on the not striving for ?quality? ? the issue of quantity over substance. With that comes the longer term future of Sajha as the premier cyber avenue for creative interaction as well as dissent. Will discuss it at some other time.

Nepe jee, it?s been good talking. Time for me shoot off, I am afraid. Happy Dashain and Tihar. Have a good one.
Carpe diem
