Mp3/wave streaming audio recorder that records the sound from the soundcard, needed. Really appreciate if anyone could post a link to the better yet free recorder. I know I could google it, but it would be better to get from the somebody who is using it right now. In fact, somebody posted one of the recorders few days ago but I couldn't find that thread either... so, anybody has it? Thank u.

Matrix, are you hitting on me? Is that a new way to ask for a number? A girl asking a guy for a number? Should I be excited, dream about a song sequence, and jump like the way Amir Khan Jumped in the air in the song Pehela Nasha from some old movie? Sure, hit me with an email, I'll give you my number. Hope you don't mind long distances. And yes, I believe you speak more Openly than the way you posted the message on my thread. Give it in my face, I don't understand ghumauro guff. [Did I just see Nirman banging his hammer-headed head?]ROTFLOL!!

Nirman, You are a nutcase. ROTFLOL. You are making me crack. Go take a shower or rather jack off or something. I don't argue with morons, especially the ones who butts in on someone elses conversation, who interferes in the matter between two people and at the end of the day cruse somebody else when nothing seemed to be working? LOLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!! Go take a nap dude. Funny thing is, The people I am aruging with are the people who didn't even help me.

Matrix, too much pride, between you and I. In any other case I'd have jumped and grabbed an oppertunity to shoot an email to a lady, but I think, this time it's all about pride. I can wait too. :)

hmm... so much went on in one day... back to the question of whether cool edit can record... .Yes it does but that's not what I use that for. I used cool edit 2000 awhile back to generate test tones at -3db to test my car setup.

Neupane ji, Car setup? I might have not understood it but it sure sounds interesting. Please elaborate. I am too lazy to go through the manual, so I still have to figure out whether the cooleditpro does record. Sandhurst, Wrong day, wrong shovel, wrong grave you are digging, dude. Timing is everything, and thats the only thing I think you've missed. Better luck next time, We will make it for four. Until then, I like the way you write, you ain't a lady, are you?

snakeBite, I aint digging my grave or anyone else's, mate. And even if I were, you would be last person on earth to be burying me in it! :) I think, I have my own weapon to dodge your bites - a little swing on the stick will do the job just fine. Full stop. Glad to know that you liked what I wrote. No pun intended, I hope. So, thanks. A little bit of humour won't go amiss, especially on a Monday morning, don't you think? And, as for the other. I am a pukka Mister, and yes, a LAHURE. The name says it all. Have a good day. Carpe diem.

Yeah, you can swing as much as u like. You can swing both ways, why would I care? You can even install a swing in your backyard and swing on the swing and swing your stick - swing swing -- until my fangs ping and cling to your thing and make you sing "wind beneath my wings". You are not Lahure, lahures don't say "Capre diem" or use some tough english word like that which are not even in dictionary. No "pun" either. A friend of mine named Shiva Pun is a lahure doesn't make every Pun lahure. :O)

Okay SnakeBite Bhai, Stereotyping is very bad. That's all I can say and it's even sadder when that's coming from an educated young man like yourself - I say, educated assuming that you are in the US/UK studying! Okay, a lahure doesn't make every Pun a Lahure. Accepted and by the same token, a Chaure (I will use this term for analogy's sake!) does not make any Tom, Dick and Harry or in the more friendly colloquial parlance, any Raamey, Shyaame, Kaale, a Chaure. Other things being equal, they can all be Lahures for all the reasons in the world. And what makes you think that we, Lahures, are all dumb airheads who cannot and by your implication, should not speak 'tough English'. That to me, Bhai (I call you Bhai because I think, I have seen enough world than perhaps you have, and yes, that's being in the British Army) is nothing more than an insult to the way of life we lead. One's grasp of the English language is irrelevant here. I have got an honours degree in literature - who cares. And a friend of mine who is a Lahurey like myself in the Brit Army is halfway through his Phd from a UK university and is currently in New York conducting research. Who cares. Aren't we all the same, after all? Believe me, you're not the only chap who've hurled such comments my way - I do come across a few blank faces with gaping mouths when I go home on leave as soon as I tell them what I do for a living. And that's fine, and I can live with that - live with the age old ingrained mindset that people find it hard to shake off. What's not on - yes, you heard it - not on for me is when people start making vague reference about us in a derogatory sense. And for your info, I take immense pride in being in the British Army as do a lot of my cousins and my uncles before my generation who're still serving or ha've seen life in the Queen's army. Comments such as yours do hurt me and the pride that I hold dear to my heart. So, that's a little nudge for you next time you throw such remarks to any one, Lahurey or not. This case is closed. I can have only so much. This is Monday, for Christ's sake. Ps: On a lighter note though, if you happen to be in my part of the world, I'll be happy to take you around the place I work - the Royal Military Academy Sandhust in Surrey, Englad. And let you see for yourself to see if indeed I was what I claimed to be what I was.

Woah!!! Wait a minute, Sandhurst dude, Please keep that "bhai", "dai" to yourself. You can call me bhai only if we matched our birth certificate and I turned out to be younger than you. About your above message, sorry, but I didn't read the whole paragraph. The whole paragraph seems so absurd to me, if you are trying to teach me a thing or two about lahure, please spare me. What I wrote was a joke a if you don't get it, the problem is all yours. I ain't spitting venom or sharpening my fangs this time around. And for a sake of monday blues, If I ever happen to be in England, I'd be honored to take a tour from you. Thanks

there is a feel of bitterness in every post u post snakebite, may be venom is taking over... anyway, about -3db test tone in car setup Usually, cars come with factory cheapo speakers that sound like coke cans rattling (most of them). Still most of us listen to that and feel great.(nothing wrong with that). Those single speakers can not play all the sound frequencies, so u'll loose lots of detail but normal users won't notice. But there is a whole another world of sound staging in cars so that listeners get the feel of real music and vocal as well as the orientation. The main idea is to match the audio in a car to the real world audio, meaning, if u listen a song by AC/DC in a car, it should sound similar to as if you were actually present in front of live band. This is very very hard. Volume has nothing to do with it. You can be as loud as u can get and rattle every pieces of the vehicle but it won't be accurate. Drum beats will sound as drum to average listener but to a musician, it'll sound in diff octave. Same with guitar, keyboard sound. So, after replacing factory speakers with a nice ones, ( I bought european brand CDT for doors), another upgrade must be a subwoofer. Speakers in door (components) can play high and mid frequencies from 80hz to 20khz. Subwoofers depending on their size (6.5" to 18") can play very low frequencies(bass notes). So, now u have complete set of speakers that can play almost all the frequencies individually. And of course you have to have good quality amplifiers to power those speakers and subwoofers... Then the sound staging thing comes in, this is where you tweak the equalizers, amplifiers, crossovers and if u have anything else to send the best signal to each components and woofer. This is where test tones come into play. Those are sine waves that give uniform sound signals to the amplifier. Configuration of amplifier and crossover with these test tones will help get the best sound without clipping the music (clipping is when the sound goes all blurry). Clipping frequencies will damage amplifiers and speakers. Test tones at -3db or 0db is preferred to configure the sound. Cool edit can generate those sound waves at any db... I think this is enough elaboration. ;-)
