my question is does anyone have any small software that converts other formats like .mov, .avi. mpeg-1,2,3 to mp4 or h.264?????

this damn ipod only suppports H.264 video and MPEG-4 video.

and u need "quicktime pro" to covert that which is reaaly really stupid........coz basically apart from spending more than 300 bucks on ipod they want u to buy the software too.

i am not buying that pro and didn't find anything on the internet that was good enough, found some softwares , but some didn't sync the sound right or some that was for psp which had weird framerate.

anyone facing the same problem???

Hey dude,
Try http://www.ephpod.com/ Download their software instead of the itunes and all....its a lot easier and faster for the IPod...I've not used it with a video ipod soIm not sure if it really helps with the video.....but explore ....Im sure you can do that...'cause i had a friend who installed Linux in their ipod....

I have my Ipod connected through Ephpod...and I use it as a portable external hard drive too....I have all my documents in it ... and I use it to listen to songs as well.....pretty cool!!!
