Good advertisment for Murchunga. Yes service is free, but at the same time there is google ads on that site. So when you advertise like this here then he i getting traffic on that site and there is more chance of visitors clicking on those google ads.
Thats how it helps.
Thats how most of the free forums work. They provide free forums but with their google ads.

The other thing is that how is it going to help Nepali artists? Will you share your money coming from Goge ads with them?
Its not a good idea to get free downloads of artists. Why can't we support them by paying some money or even buying their Cds.

By doing like this many artists will leave Nepal and come here to settle down...

My point is ...lets support our fellow artits/musicians, and our culture.

I agree with cool nepali as well. Our country is poor as it is and piracy through sites like murchunga is going to make our creative community of musicians feel unworthy. We have to create awarness about piracy!!!! I dont want to be nepali backstabber!!!!

Let the person who is making money pay some of what he makes. I will still keep uploading the songs.

Coolnepali, I am glad you have the interest of the Nepali singers/bands. Good to know that you brought it up despite knowing many would vehemently oppose your idea of buying the CD to support them.

I think it is fair enough that the person who profits through our uploading of the songs should pay a certain percenctage money earned. Not us !

We are NOT trying to make profits out of it. It is just an idea of sharing music as people abroad hardly know new nepali songs and artists.

This is our experience that we did not know many of the new singers until we saw them here. And we believe this is the case for most of the nepalese living abroad. It gives a chance for ARTISTS to be known and heard worldwide which would definitely help them.

If upload/download songs offends anybody, we will be happy to REMOVE it.

As per the google ads, it is the only way to partially support the website financially. PLEASE DO NOT THINK WE MAKE TONS of $$$ with google ads. We pay from our pockets to pay for hosting most of the time.

But AGAIN, we do not want anybody to get offended by this website. Please come forward and let us know which feature you do not want to see on murchunga. We will simply remove them. Our purpose is to make this website a simple collection of Nepali Music which can be enjoyed by every nepalese specially living abroad.

ENJOY.

The positive side of free downoad is that it allows to download songs of new artists and let us be familiar with their voice. It's most likely that we tend to buy established artist's albums than newer ones. So these free sites lets us to taste new songs, and we can buy their albums after listening to some of their songs, and judging new arrivals.

Murchanga's average Hits per day =350
Commission from Adsense = 2 cent to $15 per click based on traffic and ad content.
Murchunga has three Ads from Goooooogle adsense and two of them are related to Nepal and rest music.
I am assuming that Murchunga earns $2.50 per click from Google adsense, at most, based on its ad content.
Let's assume that out of 350 average visitors, minimum of 50 visitors click on those links.

It means the total commission for murchunga for each day =50 * 2.50 = $ 125
For each month =125*30= $ 3750 (Inclusive of tax)

By the way Nepal ko new artist are dying to play their songs in FM stations. If Murchunga promote their songs for free then that should not be taken as Privacy. More over according to Law, piracy is the unauthorized duplication of goods protected by intellectual property law. I don’t think murchuga has violated any piracy law but promoting nepali songs around the world.
Do you think mukti n revival would sue murchunga for uploading their songs? Ha.... Sounds funny to me!
Great job murchunga for promoting nepali songs over the internet.

To usofa:

It's better to shut up than to stupidly make assumptions if you do not have any idea of what you are talking about in public.

If you are really assuming that murchunga is making $$thousands per month, please review the attached partial google ads income, and re-work on your CALCULATIONS, if you are really into it. (Otherwise you are just wasting your time, better spend your time on some productive stuff)

IF you decide continue to work on your calculations, please consider our time we spend gathering songs and information and maintaining the website, and the fact that thousands of people enjoying nepali songs from our website.

We are truly interested in what we are doing, and will continue it. Why can't you appreciate it rather being sarcastic while there's very less about Nepali music on the web?

Have anything to say? Please post back.

You could also download exclusive Nepalese Rap song "Killing Terraces" at www.aroz.tk This song is so nice, it made to the top of soundclick's chart at #1 position, eventhough the song is in Nepalese Language. It's a song every Nepalese should listen to.
