We are all sad and lost for words to hear the killings of 13 innocent villagers by a security personnel. Our heads are lowered with sadness. Our thoughts are with the family members of teh victims.

Let us also wish a speedy recovery of the inured.

We demand an immediate and independent enquiry of the incident. Human rights groups should be allowed access to the site and allowed to conduct their own investigation. Individuals found guilty should face severest of punishments.

But in this our of sadness, we should also not lose our heads like the murderers. We should hold our sanity intact and not just start balming this and that when the fact-finding is in process.

There are rumours that the political parties have called for a Nepal/Bandh onFriday. I do not know how true it is, but if it is, our heads will be lowered again. This time with shame.

I agree. This is a time of sadness. But does not mean we should be insane.

This is no time to indulge in dirty politics. Trying to politicize this incident would be a great dishonor to the victims. Let us not add salt to injury.

Sheep can't raise their head with confidence, if they do they will be butchered. Nepalese are sheep and their shepherd keep culling them with sickening regularity.

Paras going to the police headquarter to beat the police chief is the result of preach of illogical senseless murderer as a god in Nepal.
Paras thinks that the country is his and he has the full right to do anything. He doesnot think anyone else beside his family worthy of anything human.
I clearly don't see anyreason to keep monarch full of people like Paras and Gyane in power to rule Nepal. Anyother senseless person would equally be logical to be there. This another person would free country from all the royal expenses that we have. Common people there is no sense in paying Gyane and Paras to rule the country and beat the police chief.
I support all the anti-monarchist above.

Bhoonte

Now did you see that..how difficult it is to define "terrorist". If we were to apply the defination of terrorist uniformly across the board. The army personnel will who terrorized the entire community (by killing those 2 dozen people and injuring much more) will also definately fall under the defination of a terrorist. This is not the first time the RNA has killed people in masses....DORAMBA incident is another.

I belive it is hypocritical to apply the label of terrorist to one group and not to apply the similar label to the other group doing axactly the same thing.

What happened was really bad. I guess it is the first instance in Nepalese history, when somebody just went nuts and started shooting people. I don’t find it logical to blame RNA or label them as terrorists for the insanity of one. I hope RNA starts handing weapons brought from tax payers money to able minded people only. It is a shame that our political parties are calling for bandh on this issue. I don’t know how a bandh is going to help the families of the dead ones. It would have been better if they had called upon all the citizens to donate a day’s pay for the victim’s family instead.

May god grant peace to the demised souls and the strength to overcome the sorrow to the families of the victims.

I completely agree with Bhoonte. The tragic incident has saddened the whole of Nepal. AT this moment, when we should be focussed towards finding out the cause of this incident and not to let this kind of incident repeat again, some individuals are busy trying to gain political leverage out of it. Such a shame.

My prayers are with the family members of the dead.

F22, I really appriciate your noble thoughts as follows.

It is a shame that our political parties are calling for bandh on this issue. I don’t know how a bandh is going to help the families of the dead ones. It would have been better if they had called upon all the citizens to donate a day’s pay for the victim’s family instead.

"It would have been better if they had called upon all the citizens to donate a day’s pay for the victim’s family instead." Is it naivity or cunning? For one, Nepal has no citizen, only subjects. Secondly, if you donated one day's pay for anything, the person collecting it will be killed and money used to buy some more guns to kill some more subjects of Chairman G. Come to your senses please. Think, think, before you write such things.

>> It is a shame that our political parties are calling for bandh on this issue. I don’t know how a bandh is going to help the families of the dead ones.

>>

this may be the first tme parties has called bandh for the true cause.

If i am dead, i want a response like this instead of mere Million Rupees for my family if any of them are alive. It's just a difference in priority. You value money, support and sympathy. I demand my worth. I am hurt and dead, i want someone to feel that they too can be hurt and be dead, i am not alone. i am not a dog who dies and gets sympathy from the passerby.

Don't take this incident as the unprecedented event and not as the one that would never repeat. it's not a single egotist insane killing some others in a brawl. it's the autocratic use of power over the powerless.

Don't let them feel that life is more valuable than few words of sympathy, crocodile tears and few hundred thousands.

Let him ( your master) know that he have to leave the valley and go to the lakeside for the rehab after the pain of being rejected from a mass.

if peace and prosperity is for the lose of dignity, damn it.

Gyane and his henchmen killed innocent civillians. RNA is there not for the protection of common nepali but to protect the royals and their chamchas 's asses. period.

We should not forget that we should act wisely in this hour of tragedy. Instead of just talking nonsense.

Fellow Bheda-Bokas, please discuss the future of royal mercenaries seriously:
Soldier shoots youth in Pokhara

Despite repeated commitment of Royal Nepalese Army for the protection and promotion of human rights, an RNA soldier stationed at a security check post opened fire at a youth in Pokhara on Saturday.

The soldier stationed at Simpani check post, Tundikhel, the entry point of Pokhara, first beat up Khadka (Nar) Bahadur Tamang of Lawanghlel VDC 4 when the latter showed his identity card.

“Why do you show your identity card instead of your bag?,” The Kantipur daily quoted the soldier as saying citing an eyewitness. “Then the soldier started to slap and kick him,” the eyewitness added.

The soldier opened fire at Tamang when he cried for help. Tamang sustained bullet injury in his thigh.

However, security sources say that the soldier fired at Tamang as he tried to snatch the weapon from the soldier.

The paper quoted one student present at the scene during the incident as saying that the soldier kicked Tamang even after shooting him.

Tamang was taken to the regional hospital in Pokhara in a police van.

The authorities are yet to comment whether they will take any action against the soldier involved in the incident.

Earlier, an army man Bashudev Thapa shot dead 12 civilians before killing himself following a minor scuffle with local villagers who were singing, drinking and dancing till late in the evening after a local fair at the Kalika Devi temple at Chihandanda on December 14. nepalnews.com pb Dec 25 05

Buying time for cover-up operation:
Government extends deadline of Nagarkot probe committee by 10 days

The government has extended the deadline of the probe committee formed to investigate the Nagarkot massacre by ten more days.

An army man Bashudev Thapa shot dead 12 civilians before killing himself following a minor scuffle with local villagers who were singing, drinking and dancing till late in the evening after a local fair at the Kalika Devi temple at Chihandanda on December 14.

The Home Ministry had formed a three-member high-level probe committee headed by former Supreme Court justice Top Bahadur Singh to investigate the incident on December 15.

Initially, the committee had been given five days to submit its report. The commission, however, started its official investigation only after three days.

On December 17, the Royal Nepalese Army (RNA) had extended the time period for its own military probe committee headed by Brigadier General Netra Bahadur Thapa by seven more days.
