Bandhs are atrocious. It cripples the businesses. People can't go to work, nor can they make their daily wage. It basically makes life difficult for the common people. Indeed bandhs should be avoided, if at all possible.

Furthermore, it seems there are far too many bandhs in Nepal.

BUT, what other methods are there to tighten the screws on this dictator and his stooges? Violence is already being used by Maoists, and that is not the way to go, at least for the legitimate parties. So, it seems bandhs, however minimally effective they may be, exist because there are no alternatives.

This is what happens when the Royal Dictator rules the country. King G and his Royalist cabal do not have common Nepalis interest as #1 priority in their heart. For them, their own dynasty's survival is first and foremost in the agenda. Second comes their own feudal prosperity. Actual development of Nepal and well being of Nepalis come as distant afterthought.

Royalists may cry and scream, "How can you say that? How do you know this King is not a benevolent one? Nepalis are not ready for democracy. Party Leaders are corrupt, why hand them over the country?"

Well, here are my responses:

(a) I can say that because any intelligent Nepali with an ounce of self respect can see where Nepal is in the global arena. Shah dynasty has been ruling our country for past some 250 years. If the company stays in bankruptcy for centuries, it is time to change the CEO.

(b) This king is not benevolent, nor is his son, nor are his stooges. Evidence is aplenty; one does not even have to look hard.

(c) The statement that Nepalis are not ready for democracy is often touted by Royalists. We are uneducated lot; they often say to validate their claim. It is a circular logic. They oppress us and keep us uneducated to not give us democracy. And then they argue that we are not ready for democracy.

(d) Sure, parties are corrupt. But the beauty of multi-party republic is that the voters become the boss. If one party cannot perform, we can vote them out. If people do not like their government, come election, that government gets the boot.

Under republic, your son or daughter can be the next leader of Nepal. Not with Monarchy. Under it, YOUR next leader will be PARAS, whether you like it or not. Does not matter if he is an idiot, given to violence, cruel, dumbass. Under this monarchy, you are not as good as him. Your sons and daughters will never be as good as him.

Think about it.

Hey gwajyo, what u mean by we r not like u. SO what is u r solution. U r solution provoke people to jump into fire and watch them with the comfor of your couch over the internet.

Get real..

I have been saying we not only need to get rid of autocracy but also corrupt and dumb polticians and barbaric maoists.

If you want to dare people, have some gusts to join the people to get rid of the autocracy, corrupt and inept polticains and maoists.

You do not know how it feels to grow up in a family os freedom fighter. After a long fight what you know is corrupt leaders sold you out.

Have balls. Your statement making generalization shows your sick mentality. Accept the fact that there are people who are against polticans, maoists and also royalist.

I want a true freedom and ever lasting peace.

Its speak to speak outta comfort of couch but when you face the sweet chin music you will know what are you dealing with.

Protest inhumanit, crime or corruption. Donot spare if it is royalist or maoists or party leader.

I am for the people of Nepal. People first is moto.

Highfly
I agree with you that problems won't be solved just by getting rid of autocratic regime or having peace with maoists. We also need to tame the political leaders n' wipe out the corrupted ones.

"Have balls. Your statement making generalization shows your sick mentality."
But please don't come on verbal assaults. I don't like talking with people who comes to verbal assaults when they can't defend their statements anymore. Regarding your accusing my sick mentality, you misunderstood what i intended to say.

gwajyo,

Ok I will refrain using curse words against you. But man do not be so naive. Do not make generalization. The incident in Nagarkot is just a mere example of what will happen to get rid of King. Can leaders generate crowd to protest against him and march straight to the palace? May be some leaders will also be killed. But where are the leaders who have gusts for that? Leaders we have now are traitors. We do not go to war with army infiltrated by traitors who will shoot you down than the enemies.

I think the power of king is based upon these corrupt leaders. Once we get rid of them, and new faces rise, there is no significance of king being in power.
peace out

PS

King is the problem right now. If my instinct is correct, Mr. Pyar Jung is trying to get hold of the rein. So he will kill the king or overthrow the monarchy. Have seen how well carpeted his departure was? This is an indication. Nagarkot is another.

Highfly said correctly, but to the wrong person. girija is too old to have those balls that require to overthrow the autocracy. Madav lacks politics (trying to play safe). So anyone can guess who has the correct balls
