Please make sure that the Network Connections service is enabled and running." Okay and than I go to device manager and like there's nothing in the list!!so yeah...I cant do nothing.. wondering wahts wrong..hmm..so yea.. if any of you could help a littlee, it would be really appreciated :$ it was really working fine the day before.. mm..

Jangan Kalangkabo !!! Try to go the CMOS setting and do the bootup from your CD drive and install. If not get yourself a new CD drive. About the floppy drive, forget about it -- nobody uses it nowdys.

For a Microsoft Windows 2000 version of this article, see 329050 (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/329050/).
SUMMARY
This article describes troubleshooting methods that you can use to resolve a case of missing network and dial-up connections icons. One or more of the following issues may occur if you click Start, point to and click Control Panel, and then double-click Network Connections, or if you right-click My Network Places on the desktop and then click Properties:
• The LAN or High-Speed Internet connection icon is missing.
• The Dial-up Connection icons are missing.
• The New Connection Wizard icon is missing.
• Only the New Connection Wizard icon appears, or one or more dial-up connections also appear.
• If you click the Advanced menu and then click Advanced Settings, only the [Remote Access connections] entry appears in the Connections list.
• The Network Connections window stops responding ("hangs") or closes immediately after you select a network connection and then click Properties.
Despite these issues, networking continues to function correctly, and the ipconfig command still shows all connection and all adapter information.
MORE INFORMATION
Warning If you use Registry Editor incorrectly, you may cause serious problems that may require you to reinstall your operating system. Microsoft cannot guarantee that you can solve problems that result from using Registry Editor incorrectly. Use Registry Editor at your own risk.

To troubleshoot these problems, follow these steps:
1. Verify the network adapter setting:
a. Right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
b. Click the Hardware tab, and then click Device Manager.
c. Expand Network Adapters, and then verify that the correct network adapter is listed

Keep rolling...

how many times have you tried rebooting? if none, try restarting your computer.
if it still don't work, you must have a network install CD when you bought your computer, use it.

if you don't, then hand the Box to someone who is good in computers, if you don't know any, then take it to a best buy or somethin!

When smart devices get in the hands of dumb girls, that's what happens.

From what you told me, you edited the BIOS and the CD drive no longer worked... Now revert that change... Most BIOS versions should have a command "set to factory defaults", or something along the line... select that command and save and exit... That should configure your CD drive to be one of the boot devices...

The put the XP Install/Repair CD in, reboot the computer... it should now boot from the CD...

then you should be prompted to select whether you want to install or repair your system...although it may be better to do a format/install, if you are worried about having to lose the data, select repair or clean install. The setup instructions should walk you thru the process... Good luck.
