The strategy with the slogan of democracy
What India did, to instigate, train, arm, and unleash the Tamil Tigers, took them to the brink of success.
By Dr. Raman Raj Misra

--------------
I came through the above article. It's scary if India is using the forementioned tactics, which has already succeeded in Sri Lanka or Sikkim, to swallow Nepal. It has swallowed all the rivers of Nepal, and now it's looking for our country. Hopefully, it won't be true as the writer HOPES. But we can't trust India too. The maoists are taking shelter in India infact. It's good for us to learn more about this issue as I was also arguing not to hate india. But that doesn't necessarily mean that I like to see my beautiful country being swallowed.

gwajyo,
Thank you for sharing the article.
I agree it is not about hating India, it is about understanding Indian policies towards its neighbors; which is against the interest of its neighbors especially Nepal.

I wonder if it's the real indian policy towards Nepal.

india is very sensitive about their security
pakistan china both have had war with india and still have border disputes. if nepal is more inclined towrds china and pakistan that will mean that india will have to secure the borders with nepal as well which means more man power and more money to be spent.

so it doesn't like the current regime getting more closer to china and pakistan.

however it doesn't want the maoist to take control of nepal either, because it sends a message to the leftist in india fighting for independence that their struggle can be fruitful

If India is really playing these "twelve-point geopolitical tactics" againts Nepal, then is it not a shame for nepalese and our culture for not being capable to produce anyone who can either stand againts those tactics or play along deplomatically for national interest.

every1 seems to be selfish n' fighting for their own agenda rather than national interest. We obviously don't want to be called as "second-class citizens".

It is pretty obvious that India doesn't Nepalese to be united. That is why it will continue to harbor the maoists, voice with the parties, and silently agree with the king. If anyone of the 3 factors tend to get stronger than the other 2, it will even patch up the weaker 2 as seen in the maoist-party alliance.

Weaker Nepal will only strength Indian special interest within Nepal....i guess it doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure that out. Nevertheless, author of the article bring up some great example to prove this point.

gwajyo ji, i've read the article but my comments were not pertaining specifically to the article.

politics is a very complicated matter. anyways in politics two similar situation can arise from very different policies & two different situations can arise from the same policy. it is very subjective.

however as nepali we should always stand against anyone who tries to minimize our benefits of which we are entitled to.

The article was written in a very good way,but the matters of the article are things been discussed in nepal for ever. Dr. M doesn't say a single word on how to protect our country, It is a waste of time listening to an analyst like him who can't even propose a single solution to the problem.
