it is not really necessary to care about or despise the holocaust to enjoy the movie.

iZen,
I had the choice between "Munich and "Syriana". I choose "Syriana" and it was more informational than I thought.
LOST???
Huh, I think you're the one who's lost knowing indept of Spielberg's idea of prolification of Jews dominance on the mainstream news and entertainment. As a Nepali, if you call me anti-Sematic, that will be wrong on your part. Let their be equality in Nepal, as you expect, also around the world too. No matter what you've read on an Entertaiment paper at a grocery stand or even the TIME, it is still realted to holocoust, which surprisinly Spielberg is good at. The reviewiers are nobody than Jews too, so hence it's a good one. Are they going to bring the story of millions, one at at time, with a twist in Hollyhood? And you're going to see them all? Anything to bombard the world with the incident (agin and againand again) does not make your wound that's been inflicted on your people better than others. How do you know Hollywood is fair? Do you have insiders? Man, you must be something else.Too much bro....too much of Holocoust from college to entertainment, it's there (I mean forced) to depict the Jews story without giving a fair chance to other race. If you don't agree with me, it'a all fine. Anyway it's my opininon. You have yours.

Vhotee,you are once again lost
Syrianna was as complex as middle east politics tainted with oil(my personal review).Munich is a simple story(based on better reviews than the "Entertainment Weekly")Yes.
Unlike "Schiendler's List"Spielberg is trying to portray a fair picture about that unfortunate event. Not that I am pro-gas chamber but Isn't fairness what we seek around us?One of the reviewer was a widow of a slained Israeli athlete condemning Spielberg?कस्‍तो कुरा नबुझेको यार?

well, i don't favor jews. i saw this movie. i thought it was good. i don't think my positive assessment of this movie disparages any other group, or belittles any other supression/oppression/genocide/mass killing etc. etc.

iZen,
Doesn't matter, still Jews, still Holocust. No matter what you read. The thing here is not the sentiment of the movies, it just the expression "Please not another... holocoust movies". Just count how many movies, dramas, tv showes are there to drain you in sweat with story. OK we get it. Move on . I don't know what the hell you typed in Nepali there bro.
What more...
I understand you and all I'm trying here to say is that Jew and Holocoust is portrait too often in mainstream news. And not others. Is that a fair statement...is it? Honestly...

first off, this movie is not about the holocaust. and although it does involve jews, it involves arabs as well. so, the movie does not have a " jews are good, arabs be damned" theme - not at all.

that said, i do agree with you that jews get a lot of attention on account of their sufferings. i would put that down to the greater presence of jews in the euro-america sphere.

^^"jews get a lot of attention on account of their sufferings" = "jews get a lot of attention on account of their sufferings relative to other groups who have suffered as well"

Suffering? Who has not. But then who do you know beside Jews in Holocoust?

" jews get a lot of attention on account of their power, dominance."

- perhaps. but i can't take away the millenia of persecution the jews have been subject to.

again, this is independent of what others have gone through. others have suffered too, but that does not diminish the jews' suffering.

now, whether there is equal media coverage, you know my answer.

iZen,
"Anti-Semetic"??? I knew that was coming. Let me remind you, I'm a Nepali who didn't know what Judism was till I came to US a few year back.So leave me out of it. OK. Just using some fancy smancy word that you learnt in the college is not going to help with the fact. ("Anti Semetic"...Bro why can't you say...Jews hater).Jews are the no 1 tourist in Nepal, infact I should be more open to them. Go to Pokhara and every sign are in English and Hebrew. The only thing I'm saying here is "Jews are over stressing the holocaust". Every month there's a holocoust new releases, it's getting on people's nerve. Is that statement too political (esp among us, Nepali)?
List of the current movies: Doesn't make any sense to me. Bro U seem to spend too much time in the theatre. Do U have a job? Stop with the BOLD text and "You're lost" for god sake. It sounds more like Paris Hilton saying "It's hot" or some frat guy saying "It's so gay".
Spending my money, I'll on something that's educational, informational, non biased
Whether I win? I didn't start to win. Only to make my point.
So long bro, I'll give you my trophy that you labeld "Win" back to you and end my presence here. Thanks
Jai Nepal

Before we talk about any other race, just look at ourself. Are we any better?

Agreed, Spielberg is a Jew, and he might be little more inclined to Israel. But did he? The movie is about the aftermath of slaying of the members of Israeli Olympic team. If someone has really watched the movie, without dozing off of course and yet says Spielberg is taking Jews and Israeli side, then I'd advice him to strictly stick to the movies like "Wedding Crashers" -- time-pass, fun and no need to ask any questions.

"Munich" on the other hand is Spielberg's take on aftermath of massacre and Israel's decision to take a vengeance and eliminate those who were responsible. Without giving away the spoilers, the conclusion of the movie is what good it did to Israel by lunching such a secret revenge mission. Did an "eye for an eye" policy bring any peace to that region? It's not about Spielberg glorifying Jews at all or about ridiculing any other race.

A brilliant movie -- simple old style yet innovative thriller with flashbacks and slick editing, some great performances and equally brilliant dialogues -- no preaching or trying hard to convince the viewers. The conclusion of the movie is out there, in the news archives, among the headlines of the newspaperss -- what is the cost of the vengence and does it really do any good? Hunters are eventually hunted and the cycle never ends.

Daniel Craig doesn't look as wooden as he looks in the pictures haah!!! Seems like a good choice for a James Bond. eh.
