Here is an image of a football player from Brigade Boys Club beating up refree. When will they learn ethics and discipline of a game?

why is the other dude in yellow not stopping him, or was it so fast and everone was awe struck by the act of a Bir Gorkhali decendent. Way to go, if only we had discipline.

Even referee is counter attacking on the third picture. Poor man has to defend himself too.

He is getting beaten up, but that whistle is still in his mouth in all 3 pictures.....

resaamfiriri, good point I guess that was why players from other team did not intervene to stop.. cos the other team was Mahendra Police Club team.

Hey, the news say that it's the first of its kind in Dashrath stadium. So, it's not the culture of nepali football players. It happens everywhere once in a while. Meantime, let's wait to hear about any disciplinary action.

" resaamfiriri, good point I guess that was why players from other team did not intervene to stop.. cos the other team was Mahendra Police Club team. "

My two observations after you let us know that the other team was Mahendra Police Club.
>>> If our forces had such a foresight of consequences of their act, we would not have seen nagarkot and many other similar incidents.
>> About the police attitude. See! that's what our police force do. A refree being manhandled and not even a trace of humanity showed by the police Jawans.

Simple fact: Players got agitated and attacked the refree.

Rest,

Saas nai lera baase pani hera hera arkako hawa khaideko bhannu ber chaina. It could have been any club that those Brigade Boys Club was playing against.

That's all there is to it, IMHO.

BathroomCoffee,

I agree with you. These incidents happen in US too, if I am not wrong I guess ANA's football tournament 2005 also ended with similar type of sad incident.

The rage saga continues....

National league restarts in a forgettable note

Kantipur Report

KATHMANDU, Jan 9 - The second leg of the Martyr's Memorial ANFA-SanMiguel National League football tournament started Sunday at two venues in Kathmandu with the teams lamenting the refereeing decisions and timing of the matches.

The three matches yielded 16 goals, the most was scored in the one between Friends' Club and New Road Team (NRT) at Armed Police Force Ground which the latter won 5-2. At the Dashrath Stadium, Ranipokhari Corner Team (RCT) downed Jawalakhel Youth Club (JYC) 3-2 while the match between Sankata Club and Brigade Boys Club (BBC) ended in 2-2 draw.

Jeevan Sinkeman netted twice while Yugal Kishore Rai, Sunil Subedi and Subash Rai each got one for NRT. The match was affected by a strong wind that favored NRT in the second half in which it scored four goals. Friends' got one in each half - first by Rabin Byanjankar and the last by Anil Gurung.

Friends' coach Siddhi Byanjankar believed that the loss of Nur Raj Kafle in defense weakened the club's prospects. Kafle was replaced after being hit on head in the 32nd minute. The cut needed four stitches. The club was leading 1-0 at the time and it conceded a goal to Sinkeman five minutes later. The score was tied 1-1 at the half-time break.

Friends' had to play against the strong wind that began to blow after the break. "This ground is good but the wind affected the play and players couldn't perform," Byanjankar said. NRT coach Raju Shakya agreed and added that the matches should be scheduled a little earlier.

At the Dashrath Stadium, the match between RCT and JYC was marred by the referee Laba Khatri's inability to control the match. In the 82nd minute, Rajan Gauchan fouled Onyebuchi and JYC captain Tilak Gurung hit Rajan. RCT captain Binod Shahi went to fight with Gurung but referee didn't produce any cards on the incident.

The incident proved costly for JYC which was reduced to 10 men after Onyebuchi was shown the second yellow. Rishi Rai had scored in the 82nd minute and Norbhu Lama scored two injury-time goals to give RCT an unlikely win. Earlier, JYC had taken lead with a goal from Abdul Gahi in the 17th minute and doubled the lead when Kedar Shrestha's attempt to clear a ball yielded an own goal.

Both the coaches expressed dissatisfaction over the referee's decision after the match. "He is a good referee, he should be promoted to FIFA level soon," JYC coach Meghraj KC said laughing at the decisions.

In the other match, BBC couldn't hold on to the lead twice as the match ended in a draw. Raju Rai put BBC ahead in the first minute which was cancelled by Nilendra Dewan In the 20th. Obagbemiro Junior put BBC on lead again scoring in the 34th minute. Eight minutes later, Dewan scored the second to level the score. In the second half, both the teams couldn't score.

Les not jump into conclusions!!

Violence is in our culture. We preach it in holiest of our festivals with pride. As if these events happen only in nepal. when will we learn? How many nepali parties you have attended in Us and UK that haven't ended up in a brawl? I mean without them, guys can't show their guts, and gals won't have rumors to talk about for the next century! amen!
