Yet another bad news for Nepalese students in Texas.Yesterday,i.e. January 6, 2006, 4 Nepalese students were killed in a car accident. Subash Gurung (NIST CLLEGE) Pukar Acharya (NIST COLLEGE) Amrit Dhital and Prahlad Gurung. Pukar was a a student at University of Tyler and the rest were students at San Jacinto college Houston. They rented a car the morning and were on their way to Tyler to drop Pukar. The accident happened on US 79, a two way highway in a bridge. Amrit was driving the car, Subash was in the front seat and the rest in the back. They were on the right side when a car from on comming traffic hit them. the overall speed of both cars in collision was about 125-130 mph. The guys had no option to save the car and themselves, there was no sholder in the highway and if they made a right turn they would bang the concrete bridge, if they made a left they would face the oncomming traffic. When the accident took place, all of them died on the spot except Subash. Subash died on his way to the hospital. As the doctor, (Dr. Akare) Subash died 45 minutes before he was in the hospital. After the colision the car was on fire so subash's half face was burnt with fire. As per the contacts, all their family members have aleady been informed. Pukar's uncle and Subash's Uncle are going to be in dallas tomorrow. It will then be decided what we do next. I will be posting another message tomorrow After 4 pm.

This is another terrible incident after Shekhar Regmi (NIST COLLEGE)(Northlake college) was shot dead in a gas station in arlington, texas and Three people in Marshall Minnesota died in a car accident.

Recently as per the news 1:35 AM,JAN 7, 2005, another nepali died in colorodo.
(I do not have more information about this person.)

Check be back at 4:00 pm. Here are pictures of those 4 friends whoose soul we pray may rest in peace in heaven.

It takes so long to get to the hospital? Dont the hospitals have emergency helicopters or something like that? This is something I really dont understand now.......

Peace to their soul...

whats going on here???? with nepalis living in US. This year has started in a very sad way for us. Does all this accidents suggest we nepalis to be more careful while driving?? and i did not know that you can drive in 120-130 mph in US highways.

its damn sad news for all of us here in states and out there in nepal. The year 2006 started with unbearable news and loss of many of our friends, we can only pray for better upcoming days. May all our friends souls who departed from us rest in peace.
well, i'd like to say that the speed of only one car was not 125 -130mph but thats the total collision speed of both the cars.
The four guys who lost their lifes, were a person from their heart and a good friend of ours. Friends like them are really very hard to find .
let us all pray for the betterment of all the nepalese people and everyone.

According to the will of family and relative, funeral said to be held here itself . The location is yet not fixed while time may be around 2-4 pm . I'd let you know about it tomorrow morning after it is confirmed.

i am at a loss for words, how could this happen? To be gone so young, totally unfair. Pukar and I practically grew up together and when the dreaded phone call came, I kept telling myself its some bad joke. I can only imagine what the rest of the family is going through. Pukar my dear bhai, u will always be missed :(
